"We-endy! Wendy! Wake up, Darling!"
My mothers' voice drifted through the hallway, along with morning sounds. I giggled. John looked over at me and smiled, and Micheal sat underneath his crib, playing with a bear. Mother came up the stairs, I could hear her footsteps getting louder.
"John? Micheal? Come out this instant! Please, your jam is sogging up your muffin!"
She entered our room, elegant as ever. With her new-age dress, gorgeous chestnut curls, and twinkling eyes, our mother was very beautiful. She looked everywhere and pretended not to notice Micheal under the crib, although I am quite sure that she could see Johns' umbrella. I giggled again.
Mother twirled around.
"Wendy! Why must you be ever so childish! You are almost a fine young lady of twelve, adn your father will not permit this behavior. Get out of your blankets and prepare yourself!" She danced out of the room, still elegant.
John sighed and kicked about, scattering toys and clothes.
"Wendy, will you ever have to leave the Nursery?"
I sighed and picked up the battered toys, one by one placing them in a small chest.
"I really hope I don't, John, I really hope."
John opened his mouth, but his voice sounded different, like honey that had been poisoned.
"Well maybe you should tell me where you hid it."
I turned around, picking up Micheal from under the crib.
"John, you really must stop talking nonsense. Hid what? Where would I ever hid something from you?"
Micheal looked up at me and said in the same voice, "Tell me where you hid it!"
John joined him, saying "Tell me where you hid it! Tell me Wendy!"
I looked over at John, but it wasn't John anymore. It was a shadow, a glimpse of something that had once been. I looked down at Micheal, another shadow. Shadows were coming out of the walls, screaming, yelling, crying in the same voice "Where did you hide it! Where is it! Tell me where it is!"

I gasped and opened my eyes. It was just a dream. Mother wasn't here, and I was a prisoner. Peter Pan's prisoner. Still, I would rather be in a dream than here. I turned my head, noticing that I was in a treehouse-thing. Like a pirate ship had sailed right into a giant tree. I was tied to the mast. No one was there, except one of the Lost Boys/Girls.
  "Where am I?"
The child looked over at me, then glanced away. It had bright blue eyes.
"Oh, please tell me! I'm fed up with Pan's games!"
The child turned away from me. Defeated I slumped against the mast and closed my eyes.
"You are tied to the mast of the Jolly Roger."
I opened one eye and grinned. I knew they would tell me.
"And what's the Jolly Roger doing up in a tree in the"-I looked around-"middle of a jungle?"
The child grinned. They turned towards me, and I could see that it was a girl. I think her name was Ells, or Ellis, or something like that. She had short, bright red hair, covered by a tattered cloak.
" Well, technically this isn't the current Jolly Roger. This is the original. It washed ashore here when the island was first formed, by a giant flaming rock that landed in the middle of the ocean. Do you like it?"
She said the last sentence like it was an opinion of mine.
"Uh well, it's certainly very big."
She nodded. "Big is good."
I opened the other eye.
"It's sturdy."
She nodded again, and clapped her hands. "Very good! Anything else?"
I looked around, searching for inspiration.
"The figurehead is missing?"
She laughed, smiling and pointing at me.
"Yes i know it doesn't have a mast!" She chortled, almost doubling over. " But it comes with special features!"
"Like what?"
"Well, there is a legend." She dropped her voice down to a whisper. "That the one who sails it out of this tree is the true ruler of Neverland. And that person, will be crowed Lord or Lady of the Island, and will be more powerful than anyone, even Pan!"
She screamed very quietly. Like a mouse. I could tell that she was from England, perhaps a bit farther up north, maybe from Scotland.
"Shh, I wasn't supposed to tell anyone that!" Don't tell him I said it! Oh please, please don't!"
She crept closer to me, like a small child. I cocked my head.
"What's your name? How long have you been here?"
She wiped her eyes on her cloak.
"My full name, the one my mum gave me is Ellasia Broading Rightly. But everyone here calls me Ells, or Ellis. Or Ella. Or Stinky, or Ginger, or Carrot, or..."
The list went on and on.
She stopped somewhere around Rosey, and sat down on the desk.
"Ellis, why am I here?"
She looked up at me, questioning me.
"You don't know?"
I shook my head.
"Pan wants me to tell him a location of something important, but I don't know what it is. I was trapped about a week ago, during Slightlys' name party."
Ellis ducked her head, thinking.
" I suppose Peter wants you to be the next ransom. That's only why I would think of it."
Ransom? What?
"Why would I be ransom?"
Ellis looked up at me, fear very visible in those bright eyes.
"Because you're the one person standing in his way from getting to his sister."

I sat down on the floor of my Thinking Tree, doing what I do best. The new girl, Wendy, was very dangerous. But precautions were taken, and now I have here right where I want to be. I heard clumping footsteps approach my door. Snitch appeared.
"Er, Peter, the boys have been summoned, as you wanted." he pushed two tied up boys into my room.
"Thank you Snitch, please tell Bell that I am ready for phase one."
He saluted, then walked out.
"Sit." I said curtly, not looking at them yet. They sat down.
I shuffled maps a bit more, trying to make the wait apparent. They shifted from side to side. Finally, I think they had enough.
"So, boys, do you know why you were brought here?"
The taller one, with glasses answered.
"We have no idea." The smaller one shook his head.
I grinned, finally looking down at them from my perch. This was fun.
"I was told, that you knew someone, a girl, named Wendy Darling. Was I told correctly?"
Surprise and joy danced across their face for a mere second, then was replaced by a mask of sorrow.
"You were told correctly."
They knew who she was, and where she came from. The question was, who were they?
"She is going to die."
Anger, sadness, and sorrow danced again, behind a mask of fury.
"How do you know this?"
I shook my head. It had started to rain, crying, just like the smaller boy.
"Peter Pan tells no one his secrets."
The boy sagged, as if the weight of they sky had been put on his shoulders.
"Unless, you make a deal."
They looked up, surprise and hope on their faces. They spoke in unison.
"How?"
I climbed down, jumping down in front of them.
"Tell me your names."
The taller one tightened his grip on the umbrella.
"They say, if Peter Pan knows your name, he will have control of it until he gives it back to you."
I nodded.
"Do you want her to live or not? There is always a price."
The taller one started to say something, but the smaller one spoke first.
"Agreed."
I grinned, grabbing  a bit of paper and a quill.
"Indulge me, boys."
The tall one spoke.
" My name is Micheal, and this one-" he gestured to the smaller boy,"- is John. "
I leaned forward.
"How do you know Wendy." It wasn't a question, but a request.
John looked up at Micheal then stared me straight in the eye.
"She's our sister. "
As soon as he said the words, he began to deflate, like he had said a horrible thing.
I nodded, glee dancing inside.
"Then Wendy shall live boys! You have my promise. deal?" I stuck out my hand.
They hesitantly reached out and shook it.
"Deal."
