Hey guys! This is my first blog post, since I was bored. VERY bored. So I decided to make a new blog post tutorial series, about using server plugins and how to work them. So, let's start off by working with Essentials and GroupManager. Essentials is a plugin where you can do various types of commands, and each with unique talents, such as /kittycannon, /tnt, /smite, etc. This plugin does not require any other plugin and is compatible with any other plugin as well. Just download the Essentials plugin on the Bukkit Forums, you will recieve a ZIP File filled with various types of Essentials, so just drag all that into your plugins folder. WARNING: DO NOT MIX UP THE VARIOUS TYPES OF ESSENTIALS BECAUSE THIS WILL CAUSE MANY TYPES OF PROBLEMS AND RAGING. After that, run your server and let it load. Afterwards, stop the server (type stop in the consle) and open up your plugins folder once more. There will be a few new folders created after the process of starting up Essentials for your server. If you started your server and when you try any command it says YOU DO NOT HAVE ACESS TO THAT COMMAND that means that you have not setup your GroupManager folder aswell as the Essentials. But before we do that, go into your Essentials folder, and look for the file config and open it up. You can configure many commands, which you can do yourself because the Essentials plugin creator helpfully explained each configuration in the file. Now, after you've done that, go into your GroupManager folder, and click on the file groups. You will see many different permission nodes and groups, but for now, choose the group that you want to edit. KEEP THE PERMISSIONS' - IN THE SAME LINE AS YOU TYPE PERMISSIONS. If you want to add an Essentials command to that specific group, type in essentials. Include the period. Then, if you want a command, such as creative mode, you will add this permission node to that group: essentials.gamemode.* Now you're all set! GroupManager also configures other plugins' permission nodes, just collect the permission nodes on the website you download your plugin from. Hopefully this tutorial helps! See ya'll on the next tutorial!
