Hello world!
Introduction:
Minotar is the skin API PMC uses for chat heads. Is your chat head not showing up? You're not alone.
Many others have their chat heads as the default "Steve" head.
Why?:
Microsoft has implemented a new Skin API Limit because the increased traffic. This means that Minotar will not be able to access everyone's skins due to a limit on how many they can access over a period of time.
How to fix it?:
Well, you can't, exactly. The only way you could do it is by unlinking your account name from your profile and relinking it again after a day. That could fix it if there aren't too many people using the API.
Are other people having this problem?:
Yes! Many people on their GitHub are complaining about this issue in the Issues tab. There is nothing they can do to fix it, unless administrators like Cyprezz only update the profile if the skin or name is changed. That could possibly limit the number of API requests for chat heads, if it hasn't been done already.
Others:
Minotar's database recently went down and removed all the cached skins. This means that Minotar is still trying to cache more skins, even with Microsoft's API limit.
