The popular reel. We all look at it. We all want our submissions up there. We all want to be well know like disco_, Sneeze, Snowylips, Niko_R, and everyone else who always get their submissions on the reel. Thato s the problem. Ito s the same people on the reel every week! Before I say anything else, Io d like to say this is not directed at anyone, and Io m not trying to offend.


Recently, I did a little survey related to this topic. I asked a few of you if you normally look at submissions on the popular reel. It turns out quite a few of you do. Why though? Is it because you are interested in the submission? Or is it because the uploader is popular? I have many ideas why, but I think ito s because the submission looks interesting. Now, there is nothing wrong with that, ito s great to have interesting and unique submissions on the reel. But, unfortunately, there are some people who click on things because the uploader is popular. If you do that, shame on you! Well, unless they uploaded something really coolo ¦ But that isno t the point! Anywhoo ¦ There are probably other submissions out there that deserve to be on the reel instead of something that someone popular made and put no effort into.


There are some people who diamond submissions just because the uploader is popular. Now, that is unfair. I think all you guys think that too. I asked you if you diamond submissions just because the uploader is popular and (thankfully) only 6.7% of you said yes. Here is an example for you: Leto s say there is a popular member that goes by the name Bobby1. Our friend Bobby1 is really well known for his mods but isno t the best at making skins. Bobby1 uploads a skin. So, everyone who likes Bobby1 diamonds the skin just because he is popular. It eventually gets on the popular reel in a matter of minutes. While in the meantime a not-so-popular member called Jim2 uploads a great skin. Just when it got on the popular reel it was knocked off by Bobby1o s crappy skin. How would you feel if you put lots of work into something and it got dominated by a popular membero s crappy no-effort-put-into-it submission? So, please dono t just diamond submissions because the uploader is popular please.


You guys also told me that you didno t think ito s fair that popular members ALWAYS get their submissions on the reel. And why do you think that is? Yep, because of the idiots who diamond popular membero s submissions. I know your pain. When I see some crappy submission by a popular member on the reel I give it a look of disgust. There is no way in hell that is fair to anyone. If popular members always get their submissions on the reel how are we supposed to find other members who areno t popular? Now youo re gonna say look in the o Whato s Hoto section, and youo re right. Thato s a good place to look, rarely. Let me tell you something. The o Whato s Hoto section is full of popular members too! So.. I guess there is no escapeo ¦


Let me tell you something else that is completely fair. The mods always getting their stuff on the reel! Now, dono t worry, Io m not hating on any of the mods. They are all very kind and Io ve got nothing against any of them. Ito s just.. The community! I dono t understand why you guys always view and diamond all of the moderatoro s submissions. Who cares if they have power over you? Why should it matter? Why are they so popular? I understand that you should respect the mods like any other member but seriously?! Just because they can ban you that you should give them diamonds. But I do realize that some of the things the mods upload are pretty goodo ¦ But then again, some things have no effort put into them and they still end up on the front page. Community, do yourself a favor and grow a brain.


I asked you guys if youo d diamond someone just because they are a friend. Most of you said it depends. Honestly, Io d diamond a friendo s submission, only if it deserves it of course. Some people go on a diamond spree and diamond everything their friends upload. The submission wono t always necessarily get on the reel but sometimes it does. Like Io ve said before: o Crappy stuff always gets on the reel because of idiotso . So guys, only diamond your friends if they really deserve it.


Well, Io ve been dissing the reel and diamonds this whole time, so Io d now actually like to say something good about them. The reel is great for getting out there and becoming known by the community. I sometimes see a not-so-popular member on the reel, and thato s great. Because that means we might find something we like, and people will become popular for doing good work. You may have also noticed that I haveno t mentioned EXP in this rant, because Io d probably get side tracked like always. The reel does have a big role in gaining EXP, and Io m not particularly fond of that. I do find EXP stupid, and pointless. Before I say anything else about the topic and get side tracked, here is the rant I wrote about EXP. Now that Io ve gotten that out of the wayo ¦ Io d also like to mention that most stuff on the reel is actually good work. So, dono t go around thinking everything is bad. Please. Oh dear god if you doo ¦ Io d be in big trouble because youo d probably blame me for telling everyone that everything on the reel doesno t deserve to be up there. I dono t want to be known as o The Lady Who Says Everything on the Reel Suckso . So please dono t think that. Most stuff on the reel is awesome.


So, conclusion time. Popularity. Ito s quite stupid, but great at the same time. Crappy stuff always getting on the reel, and great stuff getting on the reel. Idiots diamond submissions just because the uploader is popular. Or if the uploader is a mod or a friend. Again, I end a rant on a negative note. Community, I am disappointed in you. Realize whato s great and what isno t, grow a brain. Stop ruining this site.
