Operative had a Nova M12. “Lucky me!” Picking the gun up, Alcatraz’s hand re-conformed into the shape of the butt of the gun. Alcatraz pocketed his new find, and moved on. He knew that no CryNet guard would simply be standing in the middle of nowhere. Instead, there must be a CryNet base close by. And where there was a base, there was a portal.
Squad Six Leader XComp prepared for his mission. Simple: take out Alcatraz. Loading his SCARAB, XComp suited up.
Alcatraz’s head was being hovered over a sniper’s aiming reticle. The Sniper Rifle was silenced. Yet when the bullet escaped the grasp of the barrel at over 960 m/s, Alcatraz knew it was coming. Time slowed. Swiftly, Alcatraz fired two shots, the Blue Portal right behind the Sniper’s back, and the Orange Portal at the speeding bullet. As time speeded up again, the Sniper’s spine broke. Before he hit the ground, Alcatraz was nowhere to be seen.
XComp was not pleased. Not only had he failed their mission, but their target had incapacitated one of his men. This had to be dealt with swiftly and strongly. He called command “Nuke requested”.
Alcatraz saw a glimmer. A piece of metal. A Coke to be exact. He knew he was close!
“Nuke request accepted. Evacuating now”
Alcatraz saw smokestacks up top. He rushed forward.
“Evac complete. Detonating in 1 minute”
Alcatraz entered CryNet’s lab. No one was there.
“Detonating in 10. 9. 8.”
Alcatraz kicked in the door.
“7. 6. 5.”
Alcatraz saw the portal. He dived.
“4. 3. 2.”
Alcatraz’s hand touched the portal.
“1.”
Alcatraz pushed the teleport button.
“0.”
The building exploded. But Alcatraz was already in another dimension.
