It is clear that there have been many people arguing that mods are over controlling and that they think they are more important, and that they are depriving us of our "rights" In short, I find this complete bullshit. Excuse the language, but 90% are 10 year olds thinking they can rant about the Ammendments on a privately owned website. If this were true, and WoW clans and guilds would be sued 100 times over. In long... well...

Let me vent my opinion.

No one has ever claimed they are more important. Bringing importance of a person into this is like bringing religion into politics. They are too different, and joining them only causes problems.

This is an argument about authority and respect.

No a 35 year old admin is not more important than a 10 year old newbie. But they have more authority, which means what they say matters more, and has to be listened to. It also means they have earned more respect, which means people take their opinions more seriously than some 10 year old kid yelling, "THATS UNFIAR! HE BNNED ME CUZ HE WS BUTTHRT!"

It is clear that certain people have more Authority and Respect over others, and this is needed. Little children complaining that they cant do whatever they want, and that they want to have as much power as the staff is essentially suggesting a form of communism on this site. Which if you look at Russia's past, with a large population, frankly: it doesn't work.

Im not going to go into detail about that, as many probably do not understand it. However, what I will leave you with is that mods are chosen for a reason. They have more authority, which means that you HAVE to listen to them. This is a website, not a democracy. Their word is law, whether you like it or not. They also have more respect, as they have earned it, and if you show them the respect they deserve, 90% of the time good will come of it. If you get your way with one thing, then more and more people will want to get their way, and eventually there wouldnt be any mods at all.

Almost every one of these rants I see (with the exception of some) are by little kids who are upset that they didn't get everything they want. Grow up. Yes. No one is more important than another, but they DO have more authority, and if you want to stay here, frankly, you just have to accept their opinion. You can't walk up to the president with a gun and say that he isn't more important than you so he can't stop you.

why is it always 10 year olds? and besides to me, just being a mod does NOT entitle them to my respect, and its not always like this, somethings there are mods that do abuse their power because they believe that, just because they are a mod they can do what ever they want, and for gods sake, stop saying "why not make their own server?" well jimmy its because not everyone can pay to run a server or maybe their computer isn't good enough or whatever it may be.

I have a simple rebuttal to your arguments.

1) 95% of the time someone asks to be OP on a server for no reason, they are under 14 years old.
2) 95% of 10 year olds are simply immature, and prove that over and over.
3) If you cant afford, or cant host your own server, you shouldn't be hosting one
4) If you are dumb enough to ask to be an OP for no reason, you shouldn't be, nor should you host your own server at all. You shouldnt even be on the internet outside of Neopets.

Yeah, honestly, if the 10 year olds want all the power, then why not make their own server?

did you ever think that maybe, just maybe, hold on right there! that its that they cant? they cant afford to pay someone to host the server for them? or their computers not powerful enough to handle it themselves?

did you ever think that maybe, just maybe, if they cant host a server themselves, then they need to be content with not having admin rights? Im 12, i host a server for me and my friends, a 24/7 server, with no lag, and 30 slots, i have no job, no allowance, i've never mowed a lawn, or babysitted in my life, i've never sold anything, and i don't have any guaranteed income.
