Let me start by saying i'm so sorry for being inactive I promise to at least post something once a day it's just that school is coming up and i'm on a rush for a supplies and stuff and it's a disaster! so I leave you with this blog. Enjoy.

Intro
So I think we all know that there is a skin contest happening right now (good luck to anyone entering c:) So I was looking at the submissions to see the great ideas people came up with when I see that half of the submissions looked rushed on, What I mean by that is that the skin was either non-shaded,had red spots everywhere (For blood), or it was something super simple such as a skin that is different colors. So i'm here to talk about what happens when you rush and such.

What's the rush?
There are still 10 days left until the contest ends so why rush? Take your time on thinking and creating your skin the point of the contest is to show off your creativity! If you rush on your skin you are least likely going to get to the top 100. Sure you get a participation medal for obviously participating but in my opinion rushed skins shouldn't receive medal no matter what it is. Why you may ask? Well first they have 2 weeks to make the skin and they make the skin in less than 9 minutes it just seems like they don't put any effort in it. and people who don't work for what they want shouldn't get it at all.

The consequences
If you make a rushed skin it's going to make you look bad and what I mean by bad is well.. sort of like a newbie Wouldn't you want to make a shaded skin that will go on pop reel and maybe get you to the top 100? or make a poorly made skin that in the end will give you nothing (sure it will give you a medal but it shows everyone that your submission wasn't good enough) Sometimes you have to think about the skin before you submit it, ask questions to yourself like, Is it really good enough? Am I proud of it? Am I missing something else? Thinking about those questions can improve your skin in a nutshell.

What you get..
You get a medal (which I have mentioned 349843 times -.-) for Participating,You get diamonds based on how good it looks and more diamonds leads you to a higher level. See what you get when you rush? you get almost nothing. Now when you take your time in creating a skin that you are proud of you get almost everything! You get fame,a medal, prizes, higher levels,etc.. You can either choose to rush or you can take your time it's your choice.

Sorry if the blog was short I really didn't have much to say today :P but anyways I hope you liked it :) see you next time :D

I agree with you. Although, sometimes (and this is a rare case, not includeing contest skins) someone likes rushed looking skins, maybe a really good quality skin clashes with their simple texture pack? Maybe shadeing is just too fancy for their taste? My point is shadeing is not for everybody.

Skin shading used to be a challenge for me.. And I like challenges for the effort but now..its not a challenge anymore..click, click, click, click...easy... I miss the challenges and when I post things I usually thing, "Urrrgh I rushed..it used to be so hard to shade and now.. its just easy..." Even if I spend a hour on the skin..But I do agree, rushing gets you nothing..and if you're paranoid on if you rushed or no, you end up like me and doubt that skin you just posted.

Effort is important, but what I've seen is that when I work hard on a skin it gets less love :(

Great blog, I agree with you that (some) people should actually put more effort into their contest skins. ^^
