THE FOLLOWING WORK IS A SAMPLE OF A VICTORIAN SCIENCE FICTION / ADVENTURE NOVEL I AM WRITING.
ALL WORK IS ORIGINAL AND REMAINS MY PROPERTY. ANY USE OF THIS WORK WITHOUT MY PERMISSION WILL BE CONSIDERED UNSPORTING.

IF ANYONE WISHES TO USE ELEMENTS OF THIS WORK, SEEK MY PERMISSION FIRST. CONTACT ME VIA PRIVATE MESSAGING.

RESTRICTIONS APPLY:

- used as part of a project, blog or other type of submission on PlanetMinecraft.
- used only on PlanetMinecraft
- used with credit given to the orginal author, myself, and all other relevent parties.

Now, with that out of the way, enjoy! My airships, "RAS" or "Alessian" projects are made from this story, and act as visuals of their counterparts in this story. When completed, it will be posted in chapters on PMC for all users to read. This story has gone through six rewrites so far, so do not expect it to be uploaded for a long while, at least a year as of time of writing. Sad Face.

Grand Air Marshall Reginald Kenworth looked at the Empress in surprise.
“Just get it done, Admiral. If you can’t I will find someone who can.” The Empress dismissed him with a wave of her hand. “I’m sure you have much to prepare.”
Admiral Kenworth sputtered. “Your… Your majesty! It just can’t be done. We simply cannot produce new ships fast enough to replace those we lose. We are losing this war, and all we can do is slow our defeat.”

“I will not hear of such things.” Carolyne glared at him. “If we cannot match the Federation ship for ship, then make even our damned yachts worth ten of theirs! Remember, Admiral. Were we to lose this war in its entirety, the last stronghold of the Empire itself will crumble. And who will stand before these invaders then? Who will find it in themselves to stare down the invaders and fight them back to their wretched lands? If not us, at the very seat of our Empire, my Empire, then who, Admiral? No, it falls on us to bring this invasion to a halt. I trust you will find a solution, Admiral.”

The Empress sighed into her fist. “Reginald, we stand at the very centre of the last free nations. A scourge has swept our lands. This Federation, whatever their business may be, is not peaceful. It is up to us to drive them out, and we alone can accomplish this.”

Kenworth sipped his drink. “If we are to have any chance, your majesty, we need a Navy greater than this world has ever seen. We need to overwhelm the Federation with force greater than even they could muster. We must hit them hard, and keep on hitting them until their Navy is nothing but scrap. I’m sorry, Carolyne, but I just can’t see how we can do this. We simply do not have the time or resources to invest in a war that costly. Perhaps we should begin to consider their terms-“

Carolyne cut him off with a furious gesture. “No! I won’t have it. I have worked too hard to bring this Empire back to prosperity after its collapse under my father’s rule. I will not see my efforts spoiled by an upstart bastard with more power than he knows what to do with.” She took a sip of her own wine. She screwed up her face in disgust. “Ugh, ninety-three. What a horrible vintage.”

-- Dylan Wight, author.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: My current draft is simply too long at 35 chapters. I am working on reducing this to around 18 chapters for a first installment. It is really, really, annoying. As things stand, I will be unable to release it chapter by chapter, so total waiting will be around the one year mark. However, on realease it will be chapter by chapter, likely one per week. (A Classic imitation of Dickens right there folks. If you have no idea what that means, his works were mostly published in sections monthly through magazines)

ANOTHER IMPORTANT NOTICE: This project begun with my full attention. However, I am now required to work on another series altogether. I am postponing completion of SOAR - A Tale of Skies in favour of this series. Writers block may have contributed slightly, but mostly my attention has been rerouted onto that project instead.
That being said, the PMC release date for SOAR will still be near the end of 2015.

Cheers,
Dylan Wight

As I say, it might be a while coming. I might have to release it chapter by chapter. I'll keep you informed.

At any rate, this is only a sample text. The rest of the novel is currently stonewalled now that work's picked up again.
