servers are a huge part of minecraft. without them, you cant interact with other minecrafters. some mods on minecraft are allowed on servers such as optifine. optifine is a mod that enhances the quality of your play. other mods are not allowed such as too many items. too many items basically makes it so that you can play on creative without using cheats.
