Answer number 1) I am a very experienced community manager, i know whats best for the community, i'm not one of those "head admins" on a server that sits in a bedrock house and spends all his time enchanting stuff to raid poor and unsuspecting players. I'm the kinda admin who stares at chat and reads the forums to help any players that request for help. I'm also not one of those admins who invites all his friends on and ops them all.
Now answer number 2) You're here cause this is advice on how to run a successful server. I myself have had a lot of experiences as a admin/owner of servers, what i'm telling you now is will help you from now till the end of time. Now let me tell you how to be a good owner. Number 1, Don't open the server till you're fully prepared. This will help you because if you open you're server early then you will have a lot of people walking around killing each other asking "what do i do?" and getting really bored really quick. That's why you must give them some sort of entertainment such as Survival games or mini-games to keep them entertained and happy. Number 2, you must give them a opportunity to get staff. Trust me, the number 1 reason someone will stay on is if you say "I'm hiring 1 mod" Then they will apply, I'm not saying go ahead and offer 500 staff positions but i'm saying to offer them a helper of mod position every month or so. They will stay on and wait to see if they get staff. Hypixel's server and Rawtech DvZ are good examples of this. Good builds and Good description. Have a good spawn, you need a good spawn because when the player joins the spawn is the first thing they see, its a first impression basically. So you got to have a great spawn. Also have a good planet minecraft description dont just say "come join my server, i have diamonds" say "Come join my server, we have excellent staff, factions, creative build world, hunger games, mini-games,parkour, and last but not least, Drop party's" And that will attract mod players. Number 3, Have alot of slots. Don't get 1000+ slots unless you're trying to open a network to compete with shotbow or something, Just get 30-70 slots so that maximum players can join.
