have you ever gone into a server with fantastic builds and ask the server owner who built it? now alot of server owners would say "oh our staff and build team made all this!"
this can very much be possible, but becomes questionable when you explore other servers and find that exact build. you then ask the owner or admin the same question. and most times the answer is the same.
i took it on myself to go into 25 RPG servers who used a particular Build to do an undisclosed survey asking each one that very same question..only 10% of them were honest to either say "from PMC" or "permission from the original builder with proper credit given on our forum page or build itself."
now perhaps you are thinking this is a load of trash and that this "noob" has no credibility to even put a mark against any big servers with 100+ players to back them up. perhaps this is true , but i like to think that there are people out there who think just like me and feel "CREDIT TO THE BUILDER" must be given as requested.
To those who agree with me you are welcome to join and support this page.
To you server owners out there who put map downloads and schematics of builds
from PMC onto your server. do the builder a favor and grant him his credit...it will not harm your server.

identifying a stolen build
HEY TAL I SUPPORT YOUR CAUSE but how can i tell if it is an import
well it really is not hard to tell an import from a natural build. alot of the pmc uploaders sometimes use their own Texture Pack and will often stand out from its surrounding builds seeming almost out of place, not alot of importers take the time to mask it up or attune it to their own Texture Pack.
but what if they did mask it to blend how can i tell?
aside from a texture pack many builder have their own theme and style and when you get many planted into one area they stand out and almost look like a creative or concept ground rather than a city.
ARE THERE OTHER METHODS?
well yes there is! its a simple investigation on PMC. PMC does pretty well at taking down duplicated builds and so this often narrows it down to who the original owner is.
should you see something that some Builder/admin in a server made (Example a clock tower) simply go on pmc and put in clock tower and search along you may find it right away should it be a popular download.
Tal im a server owner and my staff often import things. i wish to post my server on PMC but i do not want my page to be suspended. how do i go about this?
well its simple really. if you are planning to post your server onto pmc and want certain imports to be featured on the servers picture it is just a simple message sent to the owner of that build. perhaps that owner will be flattered that your server wants his build to be featured. always take the high road and put a link to that builders PMC page. most of the people who flag and have servers taken down from pmc are the builds owner themselves.
MY Credit Crusade (these will be updated as i go fourth and raise my flag)
I have had my fair share of going into selected servers and kindly asking credit be given to a very popular map known as oddworlds medieval map. this map has about 35k downloads and has a tendency to pop up in alot of RPG MMO servers and as well has been featured in Inthelittlewood..it was a fight but after a fair amount of supporters from a server i Co-own and odd himself we prevailed triumphant we got to speak with littlewood himself and the fact of the matter was he had no knowledge of this and it was one of his admin who claimed credit. the problem was solved by a simple addition of credit on their page and a link to odds map. i am always on the hunt for those maps to ensure that the credit to that builder is given..
there are a few other builds i have run into out there that i know belong to another builder and currently and in hopes can get them to join in this cause..
as i said before if you support this feel free to join the cause.

good blog man.
I don't have a problem with them being used as long as the server owner asks for permission to use it and gives credit.
Recently I found the server 'legendarycraft' stealing a lot of my builds as well as builds from people like block_fortress and claiming credit for building them when people asked about it.
Having a large subscriber base on youtube and friends within the minecraft community are a big help for sorting out things like this, and can usually be addressed by contacting the server owner directly.
It's a shame people would steal and take credit for peoples work. I'm a big believer in people sharing builds with others in minecraft, but it disgusts me when people claim credit for others hard work.
Like, "Operation Release the Fox". ^^
