My last 1.7.10 experience was a Hardcore challenge I set for myself, seeing if I could last till Minecraft updated. So on Day 1 I did what anyone here would've done. I gathered wood, food, wool and some stone for a furnace to set a home with adequate lighting. My base was underground away from harsh environment on the surface. On day two I expanded my home with 4 double chests, 4 furnaces, 2 work benches and a bunk bed. Most of these were just decorative and placed for the sake of it. Then on Day 3 I started expanding for a farming room 9x9 large with one water source block in the center for efficiency. The space was all set up; all that was needed was 80 blocks of dirt, a bucket full of water, a hoe and at most 80 seeds to begin farming. On Day 4 I did nothing but dig up dirt and punch grass around the area to have everything set up, and I did at nightfall. So far I had not seen any hostiles and slept on the bed as soon as the sun went down. But that night I wanted to try the bunk because so far I had been sleeping on the bed below and when I woke, to my surprise, all I could see was stone and I was slowly suffocating in it.

In the end I got the worst score I ever did in Hardcore, with the most pathetic death with the least amount of days survived.
I mean c'mon, cut me slack, I had everything set up so that I could just XP farm bread and I would've kept mining till I had all the iron to make a full set of armor so that I didn't have as much of a risk exploring the outside world. I had a perfect plan to finish Minecraft in Hardcore and I died because I suffocated in stone when I woke up.
