Listen, I'm not saying everyone who doesn't know what "Apocalypse" means is stupid. I'm saying that SOME people JUST don't understand the meaning of it. I'm pretty sure of it. I'm sure some of y'all have seen some entries that DO NOT go with the contest theme. Like for instance, "Clown". Seriously? Does a clown has to do with a contest that's based off of the end of the New Testament? NO. It doesn't. And "muscle man". That doesn't either. And I even saw a super hero skin in the entries. Which is understandable A LITTLE BIT. Cause the last skin contest was about super heroes and super villains, so that's a "small" mistake that someone can make, but it can still cost the winning chance of the contest. Here is the meaning of "Apocalypse":
From Answers.com :
1. Apocalypse (Abbr. Apoc.) Bible. The Book of Revelation.
2. Any of a number of anonymous Jewish or Christian texts from around the second century B.C. to the second century A.D. containing prophetic or symbolic visions, especially of the imminent destruction of the world and the salvation of the righteous.
3. Great or total devastation; doom: the apocalypse of nuclear war.
4. A prophetic disclosure; a revelation.
From Merriam-Webster.com :
a : one of the Jewish and Christian writings of 200 b.c. to a.d. 150 marked by pseudonymity, symbolic imagery, and the expectation of an imminent cosmic cataclysm in which God destroys the ruling powers of evil and raises the righteous to life in a messianic kingdom b capitalized : revelation3
2
a : something viewed as a prophetic revelation b : armageddon
3
: a great disaster <an environmental apocalypse>
As you can see, a clown has nothing to do with Revelations! Nor does a muscle man.
I'm not saying your skins are horrible. I'm just saying that if you're not that sure what the meaning of a word (for example: Apocalypse,) is, then you should look it up. Or look at the entries FIRST. And if you're STILL clueless, look up the word. It's really not that hard if you have a dictionary. Or just go online. In places like Answers, Merriam Webster, Wikipedia! These are all good places to look. Or ask your parents. (Unfortunately, sometimes parents just don't know the answer OR they want you to look it up yourself. But looking it up really shouldn't be that hard. We can all look up things! Cause sometime in the future, maybe, JUST maybe someone will say that word you never bothered to look up when you were younger, and THEN you may have a problem. And (different example) what if someone NEEDS to know right then what that word meant, and you don't have something to look it up with? It's better to know the meaning of a word then to not sometimes. (But if your younger, your parents may not want you to know the meaning of a word. More than likely if it's a bad word.) But please guys! This will make it easier for others, and most certainly for you.
