Hey guys! It's Eli, and Happy Hallo-freaking-ween! Just, wow. It's already that time already. Where you go dress up as anything and not get made fun of... Also CANDY! If you are stuck inside your house and cannot trick-or-treat for some reason, like me, you can go ahead and read this blog! Today, I'm going to review a show that I've watched when Nickelodeon was actually good, and it's called Danny Phantom.
Barn Mates 251SSBM: Danny Phantom (Splitting Images) Review!
Back then, being a kid was simple. You didn't have the crappy swearing squeaker kids (I apologize if you are one...), and Pewdiepie was Non-existent. YouTube was quaint, and what roamed was an orange with a passion to annoy, and a high-pitched maniac who was the top subbed YouTuber for a while. I didn't watch a lot of YouTube back in 2007 (Conveniently when I was 7), but I did watch TV back then. This is when TV had good shows, and a time that I freaked out when Cartoon Network got removed from my cable provider! I actually did watch Nickelodeon (when it was good), but mainly I watched Cartoon Network. There were two Nickelodeons on my TV, Nick East and Nick West (You probably have these too, and they still exist!). Me and my brother would usually fight over who would watch what, and Mr. Meaty was his favorite show. I absolutely despised it, and every time I got near him watching it, I would cringe in fear. When I got to watch what I want, I would normally watch My Life as a Teenage Robot (Great show by the way!), SpongeBob (Obviously), Fairly Oddparents (Never watch the Movies... NEVER.), and of course, Danny Phantom.

If you don't know what Danny Phantom is, then why are you-- Fine. I'll explain it to you. Danny Phantom is about a kid who was just an average teen, and his parents are weirdoes. They basically are like the Ghostbusters, and make this machine that allows people to see the dead, almost like the Sixth Sense Movie actually. They eventually fail to successfully make it, so they quit. Danny, as curious as a teen can get, goes into this device and accidentally pushes a button. He then wakes up and realizes that he's a ghost! ...Well, sort of. He's able to change back and forth from Ghost to Human, and is able to detect ghosts with his "Ghost Breath". But evil baddie ghosts come out of the Ghost Portal for revenge, and Danny has to capture them and send them back, kinda like Pokémon actually.

You think I would review the entirety of Danny Phantom, oh no! I'm actually going to review an episode that I saw as a kid called "Splitting Images". This specific episode of Danny Phantom grabbed me as a kid, because I actually liked the idea of Body Swaps. Now that I'm older and watched this episode again, I actually thought it was pretty good! This is actually one of the only episodes that has Sydney Point-Dexter, who is a nerd who takes revenge on bullies who bully other nerds. I actually think that's kinda cool! As a Peridot Fan, I could actually see Peridot do this, but maybe get rid of all the annoyances instead of Bullies. Alright, so what's the episode about? Well, I'll tell you, and since this is a Season 1 Episode and not the Final One, this would be considered Teeny Spoilers. Not as big as you'd expect, but you can still read it anyways.

Anywho, Danny messes around with his powers, using it for selfish needs (This was Season 1, Okay!?), while also trying to beat the Box Ghost. Unfortunately, Danny gets a new locker known as "Locker 249". This was considered a Haunted Locker by many, which is why nobody got it. It used to be Owned by Sydney PD, who owned it back in the 1960s. He was shoved into his locker so much that he would get revenge on the bullies that would come near it. Sooner of later, Sydney gets released from his "Prison" after years, and sees Danny as the "Haffa" (Half Boy, Half Ghost). Realizing that Sydney can get a second chance to be cool again, he tries to possess Danny and get him kicked into the mirror for eternity. Now Danny is Sydney, Sydney is Danny, and hijinks ensue.

By golly gosh, this episode was fun to watch! Sydney is so smug as Danny, and the setup is so cleverly done that it's not the Generic Body-Swap cliché you've seen hundreds of times before (Like in Freaky Friday). Jessie is the Biggest offender in the Body Swap Freaky Friday thing, since it doesn't switch the voices, so it's kinda like the actors pretending to be that person that he/she swapped with. I mean seriously, why!? Digressing aside, you literally don't think it's a Body-Swap Episode, because they don't know each other right away, it's not done by a mysterious force (Well, a "Mysterious" Magic Mirror, but I'm saying that Body-Swap clichés usually don't have a Reasoning for it, it just happens.), and they cleverly switch the voices and time periods they're in, making hilarious jokes and results. The plot may be an overused cliché, but it's done so cleverly that you don't even mind!

The Characters are fun to watch too. Danny may be a clod in the beginning, but does learn a lesson that can be actually learned in later episodes, never to abuse your powers. Usually in a TV show, a lesson is learned, but the Character forgets like that episode never happened, almost like a memory-wiper, which is stupid! But Danny actually has some character development, and actually learns his lesson! Sydney is hilarious is this one too! Since he's from the 60s, you'll probably hear some slang from him that doesn't even fit in the 2000s, but the kids think he's a genius for making comedic phrases. It's just so funny when you say something so out of place, but done in a good way, not in a cheesy way (I'm looking at you "Tubular" and "Rad" Pun-Makers!). Just imagine Peridot in his place and prepare for ultimate hilarity. Even Danny's Parents are funny! His Dad even makes that ever-so-famous "joke" every Danny Phantom fan knows: "Now excuse me, I gotta use the little ghost-hunter's room!". That's so funny!

Danny Phantom: Splitting Images

Characters: 9/10 These are pretty funny Characters! If you don't mind some random Slang here and there, you're gonna be fine. Also another character to imagine as Peridot! Yay!
Plot: 7/10 An Overused Plot-Cliché done right! If you don't mind Body-Swaps and/or want something new out of an overused Cliché, this episode is for you! Also for Veteran Danny Phantom Fans, this is a filler episode, but it's still interesting to watch.
Laughs: 9/10 This episode is great for if you want to waste your time with comedic goofiness! The Box Ghost appears in this, and he's pretty hilarious! Just watch it!

Overall this gets a... 25/30!

Dang, a lot of my reviews give 25/30 Ratings... Maybe it's because I'm too nice, I don't know. But It's still a great episode! Go watch it to get some Halloween Goodness! Well, I might as well go off on my merry way and enjoy Halloween for what it is. Sorry that there wasn't enough Halloween Goodness for Spooky Scary Blog Month, but blame school. Trust me, there's gonna be more actual blogs in the future! Until then, Have a Spooktacular Halloween and may you get lots of candy (Or frights) tonight! Nyeh heh heh! >:3

I like Danny Phantom and Invader Zim a lot, but my favorite has to be The Loud House (The Savior of Nickelodeon)

I mean, I understand when a series goes on, it gets worse. There are clear reasons for that in The Simpsons and Spongbob Squarepants. But I've never seen a problem with it, except maybe for the voice acting, but that's been with the series from the start.

YEAH! That was one of the best shows on Nickelodeon at the time!

Well, they ruined Crocker in the movies, and the Christmas Movie gave me nightmares for 2 days, so...
