Staff do we really need it for fun?
I have come to notice that the minecraft community has come to see staff as a rank for fun and not as a responsibility. (witch i strongly disagree with) Staff should be taken seriously not as some thing you use for fun. For example, If you are on a server and a moderator/admin is abusing for fun you may suddenly be banned for no reason at all and as for that staff member, hopefully they get demoted but ill get into that later. So I have come to a solution/temporarily to attempt to ruin this streak if bad staff members; In applications make sure they are above a certian age andclarifythat they know what age they must be, Ask what moderator/admin is if they say rank deny if they sayresponsibilitycheck for a more detailedexplanation, When denying or accepting applications, make sure that all applications are organized. Add seniroes and make sure they are filled out correctly and would not get the player demoted to make sure they are a safe choice. And when playing around as staff DO NOTEXECUTESMG COMMANDS such as, /ban /kick /mute /tempban /kickall and /banall And DO NOT ALLOW RANDOM PEOPLE TO HAVE STAFF WITHOUT APPLYING.
How abusing benefits the staff members
Unless trying to be demoted, abusing does not benefit the staff members in any way. besideslosingtheir rank andpossiblybeing banned, they ruin their universal reputation. and ruin a small or large comuninty. I say to those d***es that they should f***ing stop before we whip their asses. (sorry for the mature content)
what Abusing staff does to acommunity/server
When abusing a admin/moderator can destroy their reputation as well as the servers. all-in-all destroying their rank, reputation, the server, and the hearts of people who loved the server (in thelong runpeople areusuallyunbanned but you get the point) andalso abusingcan destroy thequantityof times people who played that server have a chance at staff as a good member on a good server. Destroying all of this will easily destroy anything about a good server and turn a good server with good members/staff into a crappy server withhorriblestaff and no members.
My tips to prevent it as a server owner
Well thanks for reading this far, and here are my tips to prevent abusers as a server owner,
- Make everyone apply
- Add age limits around 10 or 15 (unless they are very,very mature)
- Addscenariosin the application area
- Make sure that the appliers qualify for moderator/admin
- do not allow anyone who has been banned/tempbanned/muted to be a staff member (unless the ban/mute was a mistake)
- Never allow frequent rule breakers to be staff
- Clarifythat the appliers know that staff is not a rank, but aresponsibilityand have them put that into their own words.
- Never allow people to skype along your server they might just plot to destroy it
