Before you start a server, I'm going to tell you a couple of things. First, if your starting a server there is going to be hackers. You better watch everyone. You better be ready to ban when you see them flying and breaking blocks 40 at a time. Watch for kill aura. Your walking up behind them and all the sudden they start hitting you. They are hacking. Nodus, and other hacks are so easy to get. You may think that hackers are rare, but probably 40% of all veteran minecrafters have tried hacking, used mods or have used clients. Most of you probably have. Your server won't be protected unless you are watching or have bukkit plugins. When you choose staff, choose the people who you can talk to on skype, or know in real life. When using skype, skype call them. It's easier to backstab someone your typing to then to talk to.
So now that you know this, take care. Almost every new server I've been to has been attacked by hackers. Take care of your server, and if hackers manage to grief your server, make sure you have a back-up map or a copy. Be Safe
Recent Update: If your going to leave your server right after opening it, you better hope that your server's staff aren't hackers, or have access to /ban , /kick ect.. Because otherwise, even if you restart the server, the hackers will keep coming back.
