Introduction

Hey guys, I'm sure a LOT of you have seen numerous complaints about the new update + new launcher. I'm going to explain a LOT of things as well, this is sort of a rant as well...but ok. Enjoy anyway?

Common complaints

-To start off, this is 1.6.1. Let me say that again.

.1 means development build. Know what that means?
Development. It's full of bugs and what not.

-You most likely don't understand the nature of this update.
The launcher didn't make things more difficult, it made them easier.
For everyone, the public, modders, mod users, etc.
For instance, you can have multiple profiles that include different defaulted accounts, different install directories, such as for mods.

-Resource packs killed everything!
No, you can just use a texture pack.....it doesn't change a thing.
It just adds the cool feature of customizing the hundreds of sounds in Minecraft.

-They ruined Parkour!
Ever think that wasn't intentional?
This is .1....there are going to be bugs..that's a bug that'll be fixed in the near future.

-There is no more cracked Minecraft!
False, there is still cracked minecraft.
Just because there is a new launcher, that does not mean there isn't cracked in the slightest way.
The old launchers weren't the same as premium launchers, so why would it matter?

-Think of all the cool features
I mean, come on, horses?
That's awesome!

-The launcher is ugly!
The launcher doesn't have to be pretty, it is also quite helpful for experienced users to determine the nature of a start-up crash.

-Carpet is useless!
I think it is quite useful, now you don't have to take forever to get the kind of floor you want, you can just have a carpet!

-FPS is terrible!
I've received a LARGE fps increase since the update...maybe it depends on what you are doing on minecraft? Obviously there are things more RAM depleting than others.

-Various items are useless!
Leads: are VERY useful, as animals move when a player is within 20 blocks. (I think) This way you can tether your horse. (Sound familiar?)
Name Tags: A lot of people, mainly on servers, love to name their animals. (How cute) This makes it more fun and can add a great experience to multiplayer gameplay. Especially PvP, "On to battle Bullseye!"
Stained Clay: Adds a cozy, adobe feel to your house, especially if you live in the desert.

Conclusion

I hope you learned something, if not, oh well.
