Chapter Three
I felt my heart stop almost instantly. That voice. Wicked. I shook my head to try to get it out but it stuck like glue. Dad... Who did this to you? Why? I asked only myself. Entering the house, I sat down on my chest. My stomach grumbled and I felt the energy draining from my body. I opened the chest and took out sliced meat. I took a bite and spit it out, Raw. I sighed and put it back. No way was I eating that. I grumbled to myself, "What can I make a furnace with?"
I stepped outside and looked around. My eyes stopped at a mountain, Stone! Of course! I smacked my head, how clever was I? Grabbing my pickaxe, I stumbled over to the mountain. "Heave! Ho!" I smiled, making fun of one of those movies I had watched with my parents. My parents. Oh how I missed my mother. But my dad? I recounted each word he said... Brainwashed. Gulping, I recalled one word. Herobrine.
I collected my stone and raced back to my house. Feeling the pains of hunger, I crafted a furnace and put in the wood and the raw meat. I smelt it cook, "Delicious. Just like Steve used to make." Steve. Oh my wonderful cousin, how thoughtful he had been. But he supicously disappeared just last year. Oh the pain the sudden disappearance had really hurt his father Notch. I frowned.
Suddenly, a gust of air from an axe swing burst through the opened door. I went out immediatly, frustrated. "Show yourself!" I looked around. "Well hello there ma'am." A manly voice arose over the commotion.
"Who are you?" I leaned against the block of wood he had broken on my house, "Your going to fix that."
"Meichrob's the name. Cutting axe is the game, ma'am. Who might you be?" He swung the axe over his head and tipped his hat.
"Stevette." I folded my arms, "Fix it now!" I demanded.
"Okay." He smirked and placed the block back in, "Sorry, I thought this was abandoned."
I tightened my grip on my arm, "It certainly doesn't look abandoned!"
"Sheesh. Look I'm sorry. Can I get you anything?"
"No." I was stubborn.
"Well look, I live right on that hill over there." He pointed at the steam coming from the chimney on the small house.
"Okay." I turned away and he left.
I watched him leave, slowly he looked back and grinned. I turned away out of rage. A glittering thing in his pocket caught my eye, What a strange looking device. Flint & Steel?
