Suffocation - A Minecraft Narrative by ThatCobblestoneGuy

I hike around, hoping a tree will magically appear, but all that surrounds me are the gleaming yellow pixels of the crusty sand below my feet. The sun slowly descends into the horizon, leaving me remaining with the mobs yet to spawn. My hope depresses, almost vanishes, as a solitary tear sheds from my left eye. I could taste the saltiness on my tongue. The sunlight continued to dim, only reflecting a small orange ray of sunlight above the horizon. I fall to my knees, begging for a forest, mountain, tundra, anything. I just need somewhere where survival is possible.

I go to place my hands on the warm sand, but before I could blink the sand beneath me fell into the ground, pulling me with it. I land softly on a layer of sand, what seemed to be a good 10 metres below surface. I stare upwards, which I had about 2 seconds before an entire layer of sand covered my body. I was completely concealed in sand. It was completely black. I couldn’t breathe.

I inhale what seemed to be a handful a sand, causing me to cough and splatter, but it’s difficult when there is no air around you. I cant move, my health deducting before my eyes. I try my complete hardest to break free, my entire body jerking, trying to break a block of sand.

I was down to half health; the pain was all too much for me. In all agony I try to keep my eyes and mouth closed. The sand in my eyes was excruciatingly painful, but there was no way to get it out. I wanted to scream, but I couldn’t. My legs were paralysed, along with my entire body.  My throat was still occupied with sand. I felt like I was going to die.

I was.

What lasted about 10 seconds felt like 10 years. My hope drained to the point of me not trying anymore. Precisely half a second before my hope was gone I heard a popping noise. I cast my eyes on my inventory.

I had picked up a block of sand.

The sand felt somewhat lighter, but it was still an intense struggle. I overhear another pop. My hope began to grow. The sand that overlays me commenced to lighten. The struggle was still tough, my eyes clenched so tight they felt as if they were going to explode. I needed to open them, but all that'll cause is another wave of sand to flow into them. My throat on fire, my lungs full of sand.
My health was extremely low, with only 2 hearts remaining. I felt close, the sand was very light, I had 8 blocks of sand in my inventory. I try my hardest to move my leg, but it still remains idol. I felt like I was drowning, my lungs couldn't hold it in. I began spazzing, my lungs on fire. I screamed, leaving nothing but an agonizing pain in my lungs. All these pains at once was too much for me.... But I never gave up.
My eyes start to water, only causing another profound pain. The sand in my eyes and the tears didn't mix well. My entire body was sweating, it was almost like I was drowning. The heat began to build, I felt like I was roasting in an oven, ready to be placed on the dinner table in 10 minutes time. I could feel the chafing from all the sand friction against my skin, I couldn't take all these pains.

My lungs on fire, my eyes swelling in agony, my legs paraylsed, my health extremely low, my mouth filled completely of sand, the chafing caused by the sand friction...

It was all to much for me........
I open my mouth and eyes.

I didn't choke on sand. My eyes weren't drained by sand. My chest wasn't crushed. My legs were mobile.

I was free.

I immediately began the cough and splatter, exhaling a mountain of sand, which piled up on the floor beside me. The sour, grainy taste of sand filled my mouth. I was crying, but I was delighted that I managed to escape. I felt extremely unwell in the stomach, probably due to the fact that it was full to the brim with sand. I slowly tilt my head upwards, my vision still blurred. I notice a strange white figure, standing next to the pit. I intensely rub my eyes, allowing a slim amount of blurriness to fade. I still couldn't recognise what, or who it was. It began to move, making circular patterns around the square pit. I heard the sounds of bones cluster and jingle together. My mind instantly snapped....
It was a skeleton.

The last thing I ever heard was the sound of the arrow soaring through the air, before everything flashed black.....

Not bad. Interesting story, but not the easiest on the brain.
Try not to use 1 word too many times. Especially in the second paragraph.
