Tale Of The Forbidden Void

You've heard of the void, right? But have you considered thinking about the fact why the void eliminates anyone who enters it, or more importantly, WHY it's there? Well, I have a treat for you! Today I will be going into detail about the obscure tale of the forbidden void, passed on from generations.

As the tale goes, the void wasn't always there, in fact, there was actually a whole layer down there. The layer in question mostly contained the ancestors of villagers, who were highly respected for their good source of resources. What were the other species, you may ask? To answer your question, the other species were in fact, the original pigmen, not the nether pigmen. These pigmen often explored the twisting caves in groups of 10, and if there were enough water and ores, they would create settlements there, sometimes combining their settlements with the villages created by the ancestors of villagers.

These species lived in harmony, until something frightening, something truly terrifying, had happened.

A slow, but cold, darkness started to arise. It was barely noticeable at first until a group of pigmen had noticed that one of their settlements had vanished, in fact, the whole area had disappeared, so a few pigmen from the group had decided to enter the darkness. At first, no signs of them were heard, until a scream was heard. The screams were of true pain, it was the loudest screams ever heard. Shortly after this, the darkness had starting speeding up its spreading process, and the remaining pigmen in the group started running, but no matter how fast they ran, they couldn't outrun the darkness. They soon were consumed by the darkness and never heard from again. This darkness was actually the void that we see today. Back to the tale, the darkness appeared to get stronger each time it consumed life. At this point, a message was slowly getting out about the darkness, which caused major panic among species, but half of the layer was already consumed by the darkness, meaning there wasn't much time left. The darkness, darker yet darker, had nearly consumed the whole entirety of the layer! Yet despite this, few of the pigmen and villager ancestors were able to escape from the layer, so they decided to board up the layer with bedrock, a material they created for strong lasting structures originally.

The survivors had then evolved to the species we know today, with the pigmen species slowly evolving in a way that forced them to leave the overworld, so the pigmen over the years had invented a portal to a separate dimension which is safe for them, known as the nether.

Now, about the void, the void has actually started decreasing each day, and theories say that by the time the 1.18 update (or 1.19 update) arrives, the void would have disappeared from the layer, allowing us to explore the layer. The layer will be dangerous now, since the void corrupted most blocks, and transformed the life (which was consumed by the void) into horrifying monsters.

That was the tale of the forbidden void, so be safe, and perhaps you'll live long enough for the void to have disappeared from the layer, allowing you to fully explore it, but who says you'll live long enough ;)
