Hello PMC! Today I'm talking about an issue (to me or any other asiding whovian) about the over-all quality of TARDIS builds from PMC users. Lately they've been made pretty sloppily, and yet they still complain that it has no diamonds or favorites. Let's start:
What's a 'TARDIS?' you may ask?
TARDIS stands for 'Time and Relative Dimensions in Space' from the British science fiction television show Doctor Who, which is celebrating it's 50th Anniversary this year,on November 23rd, 2013. It's a time machine, that can travel literally anywhere in time and space. It's bigger on the inside, and is cleverly disguised as a 1963 police box.
Now that explanation is done, let's really start.
Interior Tips
The main console room of the TARDIS is the key element to the whole thing. It can't be one small little room, with a few peices of glowstone in the corner and a tube in the middle. It's has to be unique and big, with lots of detail, (Size doesn't matter if it's a classic console room or custom, like some of mine.) Anywho, the point is, if you want a good console room, you need to put time and effort into it. Here are some things to help you out:
Use the v-hallway design, it looks way more accurate and proffesional than a simple 2x2 or 3x3 hallways with glowstone.
Use any sort of cover to make sure light doesn't shine through the glass tube. I reccomend carpets, because they do not let out any light, and they blend in well with most blocks.
Use redstone lighting! It makes the overall build more interactive and unique than simple glowstone in the corners.
Use a more unique console design, other than the simple 8-slab all around console, or the one-slab on each side console.
Exterior Tip:
I see a lot of people using the simple 3x3 box with a torch or redstone torch at the top. If you're looking to get a diamond or two, use a good, accurate exterior. I created one myself that anyone can use on their map, no credit needed :)
Command Block Tips
Here's a bonus little tip for getting rid of that pesky dialog that shows up in chat every time a command block is activated:
Use that command to get rid of the dialog. That happens to be very annoying, so I recommend using it.
That basically wraps up the whole thing. All of these tips and screenshots come from me and me only, including the cover photo. If you liked this blog or thought it was helpful, feel free to Diamond, Fav, and Subscribe! :)
