I'm guessing many of you haven't lived through bomb threats in a public area, like school. I just did, yesterday during my 4th core math class, at 1:40 PM my math teacher yelled at us to follow her and "STAY WITH THE GROUP!" because our school councilor came to our door and said something to our teacher. This was unexpected and as we walked down the hallway I saw the councilor, let's call her Mrs.Lori, running from door to door banging on them. At first it seemed like a fire drill as we walked out the doors of the school but I could see that my english teacher from last year looked terrified. Something was up and I knew it, this couldn't be a drill. I ran to my math teacher and asked what the heck was going on, "I don't know..." was her answer. We crossed the street, something we never do for a fire drill, and I heard sirens. The police were there and a fire truck was pulling into the school parking lot. My two friends that were in my math class and I huddled together in the cold weather for awhile and one of my friends, let's call her Caedie, growled, "If this is a drill, I'm going to be so ticked off."

Some of the staff from the county club (who's land we were standing on) ran to talk to the principal, vice-principal and the dean of students. Soon we were lead into the country club and warmth enveloped us. We were directed into a room and all told to sit down with our classes. I was stuck in a room with 5 other classes of 30 (+ or - a few) kids. 5 x 30 = 150 , a claustrophobic's nightmare. We sat there for about 30 minutes to an hour waiting for a teacher or administration member to tell us what the hell was going on but only hearing them say, "Is so-and-so in this room?". I personally was worried if my friends got out alright. I ran to a teacher and said, "Can I go to the bathroom?!", she said yes and I ran down the hallway looking for my friends in every room. I couldn't find any more of them (including Ilovenidity, she was one of the ones I was EXTREMELY worried about) so I looked in the bathroom and found my best friend, let's call her Heather, washing her hands. I ran up to her and we hugged, "Oh my god, you're ok!" I breathed.
"Yeah, did you see anyone else?"

We exchanged info about who was where and both of us were relieved to hear that everyone was accounted for. I walked back to the room my class was in and sat back down. Finally we heard what was going on and let me say, all 150 kids shut up. That's a miracle. Apparently there was some sort of a threat (the vice-principal, who was the one talking, didn't tell us what kind of a threat it was) and we had to be moved here because the police had to check to see if the building was safe, we could call our parents but they couldn't pick us up until we got the all clear from the county. I borrowed someone's phone and called my mom, knowing that she might be sick with worry.
"Hello?"
"Mom, we're safe. I called so that I could tell you myself that I was alright."
"Good. I got an email about what happened, what class were you in when they found the threat in the bathroom?"
"I was in Math. What did they say in the email?"
"They said that there was a bomb threat that was hand written in the bathroom and they had to call the police but you were all in the country club across the street from school."
"They said you couldn't pick me up yet but they had the buses ready so that one we got the all clear we could go home."
"Yeah, that was in there. Honey, I love you, be safe, I'll be waiting by the bus stop."
"Ok."

We were there for another hour before they would let us go and I got even more scared than I was before in that hour. What if the bomb went off? What if the bomber was here and they were going to blow the country club up? What if we had to be here until after dinner or something stupid?! (I was getting hungry!). My friends and I reunited and we all went home.

It took me two or three hours to calm down a bit and to be honest, after I slept last night, I still don't feel all better. Why did the person do this? Maybe they wanted attention. Maybe they wanted to scare everyone after what happened in Boston. I don't know, but they're sure gonna get a lot of attention, the news was there and in a later email sent by the principal he said that they would take full prosecutorial action against the person who did it.

The point of this somewhat long story is to not make these kinds of threats, you only make people scared and get yourself in trouble, sometimes with the law enforcement. I suspect that the kid who made this whole fiasco happen will get expelled, maybe go to juvie, or at least get suspended for the rest of the school year. I see people threatening others in Minecraft all the time, this has to stop. Nobody likes being told that someones going to hack the server, or their own Minecraft account. Just like in real life, I believe that you can get into trouble with the law enforcement if you do those kinds of things. It's not funny. Nobody but you and maybe your friends who are in on the joke are laughing. You probably will lose the other people's trust as well.

I'm not asking for your sympathy from my story, I just want this to stop. Spread the word about how unacceptable threats and terrorism are. Maybe it'll all change one day or at least make the internet, possibly the world, a better place to live.
