I hereby pronounce that the following Cardinal rules are of great significance, and shall be valued by veteran and novice skinners alike. These rules are set in stone; produced to be followed by and not tampered with. The honorable and valiant have already begun there journey on the path to greatness, but may these rules serve as a map when they are in a time of need, and wander astray. As for the newcomers, here on the Planet of Minecraft, may this be a vital documentation in youo re new found journey. Today we stand with many skinners who are capable of making masterpieces that leave its viewers utterly astonished, and may you one day join them in their glory using these here rules. At no time shall you find the slightest rule to be unimportant. Each one may be a task, but it is one you must face with confidence. You must adapt to learning how to follow these rules as if it is an involuntary action such as breathing. Here, my fellow skinners, are the rules.

1) Do not take even the smallest piece of a skin to incorporate into your own.

2) Never remix other skins or copy the exact color scheme and pattern.

3) Use sensible shading. Do not having light hitting the top of the skins head and light coming up from the bottom on the feet.

4) Refrain from the use of noise in any event whatsoever. Noise is not shading.

Do not leave blanks spaces on skins. A skin of a solid color is ugly to look at.

Do not make drastic color changes while changing. By this I mean to not start with black, then jump straight to light gray. This takes away any realistic aspect you may have had.

Be original. Dono t make skins that have been made an over abundant amount of times. A teen skin would be a good example of this.

8) Use any tips other skinners give you if youo re skins areno t working out as planned. Doing the same technique 50 times isno t going to help make you better. Experimenting with 50 different techniques could make a large difference.

9) Do not submit two skins that are very similar. If you are just going to tweak a color, then either update the current skin or decide which version looks better. People become annoyed if they see this on a page, for they think you are desperate for experience points.

10 Dono t go around in the chat room asking for diamonds for diamonds on skins. People will diamond youo re skin if they like the work you have done. Being given undeserved diamonds makes a skinner lazy. Also, dono t name youo re skin something like Tevodueo s Skin(O my gosh please diamond me lol!Im awesome so gimme youo re diamons and stuff lolxd!) o ¦I hope you would know that people are annoyed by this.

11 Finally; skin because you want to. Skin because you love the art. Ito s not about popularity. When thinking of skin ideas, dono t think o Hey I bet people would love this even if I dono t.o Make skins you love, and that alone will draw in other people. Doing this helps you make friends, for others learn about youo re interests. Youo ll be much happier on PMC if you do what you love rather then trying to please everyone.

*These are my personal rules. Please do not mistake them for the actual Planet Minecraft Rules. Thank you.*
