Just another story I came up with, basing it off the Percy Jackson series and the Heroes of Olympus series too. As you can tell I'm not the best artist :3 But it's just a fan based story so if you like it then great :D

1.

It's not easy being a demigod. You may think that if you have read stories and saw how they gain powers and such, that it's an amazing thing. It's true that we do inherit our parent's abilities but only makes up more a danger than anything else. It's a hard thing to be, you know. It's not a gift but a curse. Sure our parent didn't intend to make out lives miserable but who else is there to blame?

My name is Krista and as you probably guessed it, I am a demigod. My father is Poseidon, the idiot god of the sea. I'm 18 years old and live in Toronto. I figured that with being next to Lake Ontario and having Niagra Falls close by would be an advantage to me. Somewhere to escape to when I need a break or something. One of the perks I have is the ability to breathe underwater. It's handy if your enemy is trying to drown you.. Not that it has happened to me of course. I have plenty others too but my favorite one is I have the ability to shape shift. It's a rare gift to recieve but it's fun to have. I always take form of a wolf as they are my favorite hunters. Love the feeling of the wind in my fur..

My mom..well she left me on my own once she found out she'd fallen for a god. I was 4 when I first used my powers. Lets just say it involved a tantrum and all the sewage pipes exploded in the house. Why did she leave? Probably cause she couldn't bear the thought that I was a demigod, thought I'd bring trouble to the house. So she probably has a family somewhere, living the perfect live which is fine by me.

I live with my cousin Jason. He's a demigod too and his dad is Apollo, which makes him an excellent archer. We live together in an apartment in Bowmanville since we both were cast out. Forgotten. We tend not to dwell on it really, we think that 'what's done is done'.. Or something like that. So anyway, here we are. Modern society, or what's left of it.

Today was really hot. Jason was off visiting friends and I had nothing to do so I though I might go for a swim, to cool off. After I picked out a bikini, filled some snacks in a bag and grabbed Jasons car keys, I was driving down the main street, windows down to cool the insides. I never like leather seats. I hate how skin sticks to it in heat... Ew. I had to drape a towel over the chair cause of that and wasn't exactly the comfiest thing ever. I cranked up the radio and after finding nothing on decent on, plugged in the car's iPad. You may think I'm crazy, having an iPad for a car but this things is amazing. Jason had hacked it so that it could control most of the cars electronics. Sat Nav, music, driving modes like cruise, sport, etc.. All can be done of this. It can still be detached as well for other uses but all depends on where it connects. If I connect it at home it can control TV, surround sound, lights... I have no idea how he does it..

Eventually I had made it to the beach... Oh the beach. So many good memories here. Beach parties... Camping all weekend with friends, fire, food, barbeque and of course, someone had to bring their truck with huge speakers in the back... Bad memories too.. I spoke to my father for the first time on this beach.. I came here to escape the pain in my life and he just walked out the water in front of me..

'Stupid, stuck up, selfish..' I mumbled. No point going over it, I end up winding myself up.

Grabbing the bags and locking the door, I started to make for the beach. Something caught my eye, a black smudge, moving in the trees to the side of the car park. I stared at the spot for a while where I saw the thing move, ready to lunge for whatever it was but after 5 minutes of nothing moving, I decided that I had just imagined it.

The sea looked especially calm today. As though it was obeying my every thought. I took off my sandals, put them in my bag and stood there, letting the sand rub against my foot. I loved the feeling of it, the freeing feeling. I could have stood there for ages, wiggling my toes in the sand but I noticed it was quiet on the beach.

Too quiet.

Carefully scanning the area, I slowly made my way back up to car to dump my things. Unfortunately, I never got the chance as a Hellhound came at me, breaking cover from the trees. At first I thought Hellhound?! But how? Then my second thought was Should I run? thankfully my legs decided for me. I ran for the Hellhound, thinking I must be crazy, and changed mid leap over the Hound into a Wolf. Landing on all fours, I spun round and snarls at it, baring my canines. It snapped at me as I tried to cut under and grab his foot. Unfortunately, that was my mistake and it knocked me tumbling down the sand. I could see the world spinning and spinning and eventually I spread my four legs out to stop myself. I got up, shook the sand out my fur and and turned round to face...nothing. The Hellhound had vanished. There was no evidence of it anywhere, even at the top of the trail I made when I fell. It has simply disappeared. I almost thought I had begun to imagine the whole thing when I saw an arrow sticking out the spot next to where I fell. Curiously padding over to it, I sniffed at it and instantly recoiled. It smelled of Jason.

'Now that is what I call an entertainment.'

I spun round to the sound of the voice to see Jason leaning against the hood of the car, bow in hand and his quiver on his back. Where he came from was a mystery and how long he was there was a mystery still. He had plain white shirt and brown shorts on with white shoes. His hair was messy but that was always just... him.

I changed back to human and asked curiously, 'You killed it?'
'Don't sound so surprised,' he laughed. His laugh sounded amazing. It was a genuine laugh but the kind you'd expect a teenager to make.
'Well forgive me but I was fighting a Hellhound. Why the hell was it up here anyway?' I walked over to put on a t-shirt I had in my bag.
'No idea. I was walking by and saw the car. Came over and you went all Gladiator so thought to watch. The thing disappeared before I could even get a shot at it. Arrow missed him by a second.'
'How does it feel to miss?' I teased him.
'Oh haha. I have a reputation to uphold you know. Imagine what my dad would say if he heard about this...'
'Reputation? You? Hahaha, that is by far the best thing I have heard all day,' I laughed as I walked round to the car and got in. I watched him sneer at me and climbing in the passenger side and put the window down.

While we were driving back home, I started thinking about things. One of the many downfalls of being a shapeshifter is my anger can activate it very easily. I hate it and I'm trying to control it but it is harder than it seems. Once I got really upset and next thing I know, I'm a gecko. No idea why that particular animal but it's always confused me. The bad thing is, the stronger the emotion, the harder it is to change back. Jason tries to be sympathetic with me but sometimes he can't help but giggle and it really doesn't help me out one bit.

(Will edit the rest later :3)

Coming back to this 3 or so years later and it makes me cringe at my writing style back then haha.
Thank you for reading it though. I do still love the series and maybe, depends, I might take writing up again as I now have more experience through RP.
