Better Than Everyone Else? - Really?
You've probably met that person - they won't associate with people like you. And you're like: What gives? Don't worry. It's not you. It's the other person. Why? Because, most of the time, they think they are better than you. But, are they really? No. They're not. But, that doesn't mean that you are better than they are. Because you're not. You're both equal. You don't have to necessarily get along, but you're not better than them and they aren't better than you.
Why Do People Think They're Better Than You?
There are many reasons people may think they are better than you. Let's take moderators for example. Some are nice, sure. But, what about those mods that completely ignore you? Are they doing it because they don't like you? Probably not. They're a moderator. They are probably pretty busy. But... what if they're not? You don't know this, of course, but could it be they think they are better than you? Possibly. But why? Why would they think they were better than you? Maybe because they're a moderator. Sometimes, power can get the best of you. You can think you're better than the "noobs". You're not. No one is better than anyone else.
How Do You Deal with People That Think They are Better Than You?
There are many good and bad ways to deal with prideful people. You can:
(A) Ignore them back
(B) Continue to be nice to them
(C) Spam their PM inbox with threatening messages
I would not do A or C. For C, just use common sense. Oh, and in case you're thinking about doing C, have you ever heard of the report button? B is the best thing to do. Continue being nice. They may come to realize that power isn't everything - or they may continue to ignore you. Either way, don't be mean, be nice. Be the bigger (not better!) person. Just because they think they are better than you doesn't mean they are, the problem is a prideful attitude.
