Hi guys, Greytopher here with another blog. Today, although I'm still a teenager, I thought that the majority of my friends were 'mature'. We all differ on age groups, and we all should be able to handle ourselves in certain situations, but sometimes it just... doesn't work at all. Regardless of age, someone can be quite immature, and reactions to certain subjects may just hurt you in the long run.
A Troubling Past...
We all grow up, and we all go through phases of what we think is funny, appropriate, what we're allowed to say and so on. As time goes by, trends start and end, relationships start and end, and we go through a turning point of becoming 'mature' people. Though, this doesn't happen with everybody at the same time, apparently. There can be mature 12 year olds when a 21 year old still laughs at fart jokes. And, as always, the same applies with Minecraft.
When you first join a server, anything goes. You don't know whether you're staying for a long time, or just long enough to screw around and not be productive in what you do. There's the immature player that destroys others' buildings, and there's the mature player that goes right to work. Now of course, these two things can get you quite noticed with the Admins and Moderators of the server, but both in different ways.
Your first time meeting with anyone is your most important. It's what others judge you by, and if you screw up that first conversation with that person, it may take a while (if not, forever) to get them to even like you again. A great example would be trolling other players, griefing, or just plain old acting stupid. These things can really gain you a bad reputation for days to come, and if you don't clean up your act, you may never progress into what you really want.
A Ladder to Excellence...
As I said above, your first impression can mean the world. With a site like PMC, you really have to watch what you say, what you do, and above else, how you interact with other players. If you aim to become a moderator on this website, those three things are under constant observation if you're thought of as a candidate.
There have been many times when promotions come along, and nominees are put up, and people are simply denied because of how they've been seen acting with other people. The biggest problems I have seen with players is obviously a lack of maturity. Users who don't know when to control themselves in the appropriate situation, talking back to moderators, acting high and mighty are three traits that are instantly shot down.
But then there are the mature players who know when it's appropriate to goof off, but know when it's time to stop before things get out of hand. These people aren't mini-mods, though, they're just what I consider "good people" with great intentions. These people don't want moderator status, but it's simply a bonus to have while enjoying themselves on the website. Having good manners, friends, and above else a good attitude and sense of maturity is what everyone looks for in a great colleague.

But for real, people should not even ask or bother about age, its an unimportant factor. And maturity is just not bound to ages.
