Chapter 1 - Darkness
They say long ago, when minecraft was first forged by the hands of Notch, and the first blocks were placed, that a man was born. Notch named this man ‘The Hero’, for he was to be the hero and saviour of the land Notch was destined to create, Minecraftia…
So for a while all went well. The Hero explored the land as Notch created it, destroying all that threatened him, and building great structures. Over time he grew strong and wise. However after some time Notch decided that this Hero had lived alone for long enough, so he started to create a second intelligent entity similar to him, of which he called Steve. However they say the Hero grew fearful that Notch favoured Steve over him, and that the jealousy got the better of him… So the Hero embarked on a new quest, to kill Steve… Notch grew angry at the Hero and his endless threatening, so as punishment he sent him to the depths of the nether and the depths of hell. They say that the heat was so blinding, that it bleached his very eyes white, and that he came back for revenge, only to become locked in a deadly combat with Notch and Steve. Until one day Notch grew so impatient and frustrated with The Hero that he used all of his powers to forge a sword to at last defeat the evil that he’d once created. However that was long ago, and soon Minecraftia became peaceful once again…
Chapter 2 – Awakened
200 years later…
Long ago in the days where the evil one, of which we now call ‘Herobrine’, was as powerful as Notch was when I was last awakened. Herobrine created me as an unstoppable guard to his fortress; however I left my guarding position to side with Notch. He believed me to be lying when I told him I wanted to help him, so he had me locked up, until one day he let me out and handed me a sword. It was the most beautiful thing I’d ever seen, it glimmered in the light. Most believe it was Notch who took the final strike to send the evil back to the depths of hell, but I know the truth. For so long after when Minecraftia became peaceful again, I stood frozen as nothing more than a statue, a relic of the old days, lay rest in a village. I stayed that way for so long that ivy grew around me. Until one day I awakened to feel sunlight shining on my closed eyelids, and I could feel the cool breeze, I could move and at last I could breathe. I’d been asleep so long; I thought I’d never wake up. Nowadays I stay alone patrolling in my village, that’s where I guard now. Herobrine had given me great strength and bulk when he created me, so I protect the villagers from the dangers of the night, and I’m always sure to keep an eye out for those endermen who I’ve never trusted. This evening whilst I’m patrolling the village I sense something out of the ordinary. Everyone is rushing to their houses, but they’re whispering of something I don’t understand. There’s great talk and discussion about whatever it is that has happened, although I have no voice to ask them what it is. Soon however, I find out, as a figure suddenly appears, moving along the path towards me. He appears to be limping and holds a sword of iron in his hand. I recognise him, although I’m not sure where from exactly. Not until he approaches and I take a closer look…
