Steve docked his boat and turned to examine the environment. There were oak and birch trees all around.

"Looks like I'm in a forest biome," Steve thought to himself.

Steve saw a flock of chickens to his right. He remembered that his hunger bar and food supply were low. He needed to stock up on food and supplies. Steve pulled his flint and steel out of his inventory and approached the flock.

"I'm sorry," Steve said to the chickens. "It's for a good cause."

Steve set nearly the whole flock ablaze. He watched as they ran, trying to extinguish themselves. Their efforts proved useless as they disappeared, dropping cooked chicken. Steve picked up the cooked chicken, and as he was about to feast, he saw four chickens left from the flock. The chickens looked at him. Steve felt a little sorry for the chickens. He went around gathering seeds for the chickens. When he came back, he fed them, and they had chicks. Steve smiled and he ate his lunch.

After Steve ate his lunch, he approached the woods to gather supplies. He equipped his stone axe and started cutting down an oak tree. He then made himself a crafting table, since he knew that he would need it. He gathered more oak logs so that he could build himself a shelter.

"Now I just need some sheep," Steve thought to himself. He had some iron ingots on him, so he crafted some shears so that he could gather wool without harming the sheep and make a bed.

But when Steve looked around, he couldn't see any sheep. He climbed to the treetops so that he could get a better look, but he couldn't see any sheep that way, either.

Steve climbed down from the treetops, and upon getting to the ground, he saw a path.

"Maybe that path will lead me to some sheep," Steve thought to himself. The path led into the woods. There would be creepers, spiders, and probably zombies and skeletons if they haven't burned from the sun. Steve knew this. He got his enchanted stone sword from his inventory and entered the unknown of the woods.

It had to have been three kilometers since Steve had stepped into the woods. His legs were tired from walking. He was slightly hungry, but didn't want to waste his food. Steve looked up at the sky and found that the sun was beginning to go down. Steve was beginning to think that he should build a hut and rest there for the night.

Just then, Steve heard a scream coming from further down the path. He readied his sword and waited. Then a villager came running from the direction Steve was heading and grabbed him by the shoulders.

"Go back!" the villager said to Steve.

"What is it?" Steve asked the villager.

"It's... that!" The villager pointed. There was a large herd of zombies approaching. The villager had been running from them, defenseless.

"Get behind me!" Steve told the villager. Steve upgraded from his enchanted stone sword to an iron sword, also enchanted. He approached the zombies and started swinging his sword. Zombies were dropping like flies with almost every swing of Steve's mighty sword. The battle was almost endless.

Finally, after the long battle with the zombies, the last one was gone. The villager was grateful for Steve.

"You're a lifesaver!" said the villager. "I don't know what I would've done without you! I'm forever in your debt."

"You don't have to repay me," said Steve. "But what were you doing out here so close to dark?"

"I was just going on a little run for my village," the villager explained. "Then, one came out of nowhere. I tried to punch it to death, but that didn't help at all! It just caused more and more to show up. I had no choice but to run! And then I ran into you, and... you know the rest."

"Can you take me to your village?" Steve asked the villager. "I need some shelter for the night, and I need to stock up on food."

"Of course!" said the villager. "It's down this path. Is there a particular reason you were following this path?"

"I was trying to find some sheep so I could get some wool. I was thinking about building a shelter for the night, then you showed up."

"I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but there aren't sheep in this area anymore. The only way you can get wool is if you kill lots of spiders and use their string."

"What happened to them all?" Steve asked.

"It's a long story," the villager said. "I'll explain when we get to the village. What'd you say your name was?"

"I didn't, but... Steve."

"I'm Vince."

When Steve and Vince got to the village, Steve was amazed at the sight. There were walls and fences around the village. There were guards stationed at towers and the gates. When the guards at the gates saw Vince, they seemed very relieved.

"Vince!" one of the guards called out. "Where were you? We were getting so worried!"

"I got chased by some zombies," Vince explained. "Then Steve here showed up. I wouldn't be alive if it wasn't for him."

The guards smiled at Steve.

"You are a hero," one of them said. "How can we ever repay you?"

"He needs food and shelter," Vince told the guards. "And somewhere to sleep."

"We can give you food and shelter, Steve," said one of the guards, "but I don't know about a bed."

"Vince explained that to me," Steve said. "About the sheep and how you need to get string from spiders. He said he'd tell me the whole story when we got here."

"Well, we'll come too," said one of the guards. "When we finish our shift."

"We'll be at my house," Vince told them.

"Very well," said the guard. "Oh, and I'm Calvin, the other guy's Mark."
