What is the re-spawn rift?
The respawn rift would be a strange hidden dimension in minecraft that is meant to look and feel as surreal as possible. It would be a endless flatland of pure white blocks that is dotted with pitch black structures such as buildings and trees. It would be inhabited by humanoid creatures called Riftians, completely white villagers with black eyes (10 hearts, don't attack unless provoked, deals 2.5 hearts of damage, they attack in groups like zombie pigmen). If you die in this dimension you will re-spawn in the overworld but all of your stuff will be gone
How do you get there?
When you die, you would have a 1/128 chance to spawn in this dimension instead of spawning in the overworld. You could disable this from happening if you choose to when your making the world.
How do I get back to the overworld?
The dimension would have campsites scattered around at random that contain a fire, grass, a bed, a furnace, a chest, and a crafting table. If you sleep in the bed you will wake up at your spawnpoint in the overworld with all of the stuff you had before you died, as well as any stuff that you aquired in the re-spawn rift.
Why would you want to go there?
Going to this dimension has its pros and cons:
Pros: - You keep all of your stuff that you had before you died if you escape
- You can acquire a re-spawn sword, which recovers 1 heart of your health for every 4 damage that you deal (it has the same durability and damage power as a iron sword and has a 1/256 chance of spawning in a chest in the dimension)
- You don't lose exp if you go here after dying
Cons: - Can be time consuming to find a way out
- Difficult to see pitfalls and other traps
