Chapter 2
"White!" I called.
White turned towards me and gave me a withering glance. "You're late. Where's your stuff?"
"Oh. Um, right. Sorry. Night's house burnt down."
"So I heard," White said. "Now go get your stuff. Hurry." I nodded and ran back down the small dirt road.
I returned a couple minutes later, a backpack slung over my shoulder and my diamond sword in hand.
"Diamonds?" White said with a raised eyebrow. "How's you get those?"
"I, um, well, you see..."
"You stole it?" White asked. I gave her a sheepish grin.
"Oh for goodness' sakes. Well, at least there's nobody left to miss them." She shook her head. "Should we steal the horses, too?"
I glanced towards the stables. On one hand, the people here really needed them. On the other, we would cover far more ground by horseback.
"Yes," I said. "Let's." We took off at a run towards the stable and each got on the back of a horse. We nodded slightly at each other and took off.
It wasn't long before we reached the mining town. "Stop," White said.
"But it's still daytime! We have a long time before we should have to stop!" I protested.
White gave me another withering glance. "No, you nitwit. We should steal all the iron and diamonds that they left here."
"Oh. Um, right." I nodded and we dismounted.
"You take the east wing, I'll take the west," White said, and we took off in opposite directions.
Chapter 3
"What did you find?" White asked when we regrouped in the center.
"Eh. Not much," I said. "Just about three diamonds and ten pieces of iron. You?"
She gave me a suprised look. "That's it? I got about ten diamonds and a stack of iron."
I whistled between my teeth. "That's a lot for Herobrine's era."
"Well, it IS a mining town," White comented dryly. I nodded in acknowledgment.
"Let's see. How do we divide this evenly. Um... I get a diamond sword, too, so there's eight left..."
"Enough for a chestplate," I put in.
White glared at me. "And enough for two pairs of boots. Which is divided evenly. And a stack of iron is more than enough for the rest of our armor. Okay." She threw four diamonds and 32 iron ingots at me. "Go craft youself some armor." I nodded and wandered over to a crafting bench.
I put the armor on and walked back over. "Whattya think? How do I look?"
White eyed me. "The boots kind of stand out."
"Well, duh," I said. "What, did you expect them to look iron, too?"
"Totally. I can't believe they didn't." White said sarcastically. "Come on. Let's go."
"White!" I called.
