He was taking a walk, as always, a walk down the moonlit forest of birches and oaks. Every night he walked at the stroke of midnight to a shack deep in the woods, to care for a old friend who had been injured by a strong, bulky warden when he was in his 20's, which gave him everlasting injuries. But tonight, even though he had done this so much times before, this time it felt wrong, it was purely silent.
No Owls Hooting, Wolves Howling. No Cicadas chirping, nor the rushing of water from the crystal blue stream. Rain from the starlit clouds. No growls of Thunder cracking from the sky, no squeaks from small critters, nothing. Not even the breeze. Not even his footsteps. Confused, he said "Hello?"... No sound. Now he was really confused. Maybe it's because I'm so old, maybe because I stayed up so long, maybe when I Go to sleep and wake up the next day I'll be okay. He thought. So he went quicker going to the shack where his friend lived.
Finally, he arrived at the shack, well not exactly. He had to move all the bushes out of the way, Some of these bushes had fruit, raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, Tayberries, Boysenberries, dewberries, mulberries and way more. But when he pushed them out of the way, Sounds came rushing back, he heard Owls hooting, Wolves howling. Cicadas Chirping, the rushing of water from the crystal blue stream. He heard Rain from the starlit clouds. The growls of Thunder cracking from the sky, squeaks from small critters, everything, well everything but much much Louder. Then, Instantaneously, at supersonic speeds, a fox came bounding towards him and knocked him of his feet, Screaming. He looked up and stood up and stared in horror at what he saw. There, where his friends house used to be, was two graves, and on one of the graves was his friends name, and on the other grave, was his.
Then, before he knew it, Thorny vines ripped out of the ground and grabbed him, moving up to his head, he was strangled and gasped for breath. Suddenly, the ground opened below him, and he fell down, then the hole in the ground was covered up, and he was buried alive. Then it finally hit his head. The screaming fox! It was a rumor that a demon fox had settled near his friends shack, The screaming fox had got him, and then he was gone.
