Steve heard the monsters advancing behind him. Sweat ran down his face as he raised his pickaxe one final time.
He held it in the air for what seemed like an eternity.
Maybe, just maybe, I can turn and run away he thought. Then again, no. I don't have the time. Oh please, Creator. I shall break this block and perhaps you shall perform a miracle to get me out of here.
Steve struck down upon the ore. A large crunch was emanated and the block burst into dust.
Steve could hear a shifting of pistons. The floor under him gave way instantaneously.
Down Steve went, clawing frantically at the shaft around him, hoping in vain to catch onto something.
He then noticed a dim light fading into view from deep within the void. The light grew brighter, and he fell closer.
He plunged into a deep pool of water. He flailed his arms about until he surfaced. Gasping for air, he took a look around.
He could hardly believe what he beheld: An enormous waterlogged hallway made of prismarine.
He silently cheered, realizing he was out of harm's way.
Or so he thought.
As Steve observed the hallway, he realized that the spider and zombie that stalked him above were the least of his fears.
An army of swimming creatures aproached him, cast in shadows.
This is not a gift from the Creator. This is a curse from the Destroyer.
