The nose elder cleared his throat with a mighty sip of his drink.
¨So you wanted to hear the story of this world before the solar eclipse event? Huh.¨
The young noser nodded fanatic. ¨Hehehe, I like that enthusiasms of yours.¨

¨Let´s see...¨ After a deep thought look into the past the nose elder slowly started.
¨The world before our era was different. Multiple groups of people, not nosers, lived among each other. Most of the time they worked apart but from time to time with each other. You see, they had different types of profession. The builds making cities in several setting you can´t even try to imagine. All of them looked liked they were picked out a fairy tail, so magnificent. To make those places even more excited, some rare people changed the look of how the blocks looked like. So the effect of the theme on the city would be even greater¨

¨Is that even possible?¨ asked the young one impatient and full of questions. ¨Just shut your mouth and let me talk young one.¨ said the elder with a bit of frustration.

¨Now where was I...¨. ¨Ah yes, those block-alters changed the look of them. Some palettes were widely used were others far less or simply ignored or quickly disposed of them. You know beside the block-alters. There were also a lot of look-changers. These people were quite common they say but in a way related with the block-alters. The talented ones were like living gods yet there was also a lot of copycatting each other in the lower regions.¨

¨That´s not fair for the hard workers under them!¨ Shouted the young one. ¨Yes life wasn´t always fair they say in that era. But didn´t I said you should shut your mouth young one?¨ The elder said that with a frustrated glare. The young one turned red of shame. The elder grinned toward the young one.

¨Those were the most populars ones; Builders, block-alters and look-changers. There were some minorities. First of all the physics, these were extremely rare but made systems so they could change how the world worked. We do not know what kind of things it was, but often it was nothing good. A second group were the loners. They explored the world an traveled alone creating complexes to survive. These were seen as the lowest people of all, often they wore simple suits like we do, flatten nothing fancy but good enough. An other group were the red-people, respected for their cunning but often misunderstood due to the complexity of the things they made with redstuff. ¨These red-people could make more cunning devices than I could think of in my wildest dreams. Yet these devices were rare.¨

¨Why was that eld...¨ The young one quickly shut his mouth and turned once again red. ¨Hohoho, you´re a quite eagerly huh?¨ Spoke the elder with lesser frustration in his voice.

¨You know, there was a major downside of these devices. The size. In this era and back then you can´t change the size of the blocks. Which means every piece of this redstuff is big as one block we use today. People were shocked by what these things could do. Automated/secret/protected doors, small games, you call it. But they were more shocked by the size of them. The largest redstuff relic we know of was around 250x250x100 estimated.¨

The mouth fell open of the young one and showed a thinking brain trying to understand the scale of it. ¨Yes it is far bigger than our humble village and no we don´t know where for it was used as we cannot understand it.¨ Answering the young one question without letting him asking it.

¨Through the size of them they couldn´t fit in properly into the majestic builds they made back then. With that in mind people didn´t pay to much attention towards these people and so they didn´t towards them. Sure there were people coorperating with them, but those were even more rare. Instead they clustered more together than other groups and each went their own way. By keeping all of them together and seldom interacting between the groups. The relation between the red-people and the other groups went downhill over time. We don´t know why but it seems they started to work together like a small pack of wolfs. One leader leading others so their power, skill and such became much greater. The red-people started to use uniform systems to modularize and standardize their work for easier work with others.¨

¨Is there any proof for that?...¨ The young one quickly shut his mouth once again.
¨Yes there is. Sites have been founded were buildings were filled up and a new building was made on top of it.
¨ Spoke the elder one with a face deep in thoughts.

¨In the time the red-people organized themselves they were threaten like low-lifers good for nothings. Partially because the didn't change suits towards the latest trends of the look-changers. Instead they focus´t more on what they liked. Making redstuff devices.
On one day these guys spread out into small groups and settled down underground in strategically placed hideouts. In those places they delved a lot and started to build something.¨ Before the young one could say something the elder raised his hand. ¨We don´t know exactly what those things were, nothing good at least.¨

¨Time went by and the normal life went through. Except that people were wondering from time to time were those red-people went and didn´t show them new work or were available to repair the damage done by improper handling of the devices by themselves. But then it happened. An eclipse above the greatest city appeared. While the people looked puzzled towards the view something started to rumble from deep.¨

The elder took another mighty sip of his drink and looked with a smile into the young one impatient face.

¨The rumbles slowly increased. The people were looking at each other with asking looks. People started to look around them. But most of the faces got stuck at the main tower. It started to decay the block-alters work. As if it was a growing whirlpool the decay progressed as a slow-motion tsunami over the city. The eclipse was suddenly clouded into tiny pieces of weird stuff. After a while the eclipse became visible again, in a much brighter light then ever. Lights of beam started to appear in a circle around the city. The circle harassed the eclipse with the mighty beacons of light shining towards the endless depths of the sky around the eclipse. So giant was the circle, harnessing the eclipse¨

The elder looked up and saw the young one eagerly awaiting for the story to continue.

¨Suddenly a ring of light, not as hight as the beacons but still bigger/brighter they had ever seen, started to connect the beacons into a circle around the city. People started to panic. Some tried to breach through the light barrier but they got burned down as if they were hit by lighting. The people started to panic even more when their suites made by the look-changers started to decay. First the people at the outskirts near the barrier and as last the center of all. People went from panic towards awful when they could see someone´s true colors underneath the suites their friends and family worn. It seemed that the antie block-alters work tsunami reflected on the barrier and changed it´s purpose.¨

The young one attention was full into the story not noticing his wide open mouth with some spittle hanging out.

¨After this tsunami, light started to form a pattern inside the circle. People started to wonder if this was the witches doing or something else. Around the light barriers the ground started to open up and machinery was shown. Machinery never seen before, was the base for the witch sorcery circle. People slowly started to realize the low-lifers of red-people made this in collaboration with a witch or a mad physics. The people started to panic even more as their fragile cosmetic world started to collapse and showing its true, painful, depressed colors that rose up while the air became more cleaner of particles.¨

The elder took some breath and took a sip of his drink before he went further.

¨The pattern grew slowly. As if it wanted to let the people discover first other peoples true colors before moving onto another phase. The next phase started when new beacons were lit upon completion of the pattern inside the circle. A mighty rumble, no earthquake was released in the circle. Building started to scatter around the city. As the city started to collapse people started to die through the collapsing buildings.¨

The young one looked shocked. ¨But what about other towns and cities?¨ Asked the young one. ¨Don´t rush me, that part is coming.¨ Said the elder with more frustration than before. He took another sip of his drink and went further.

¨After a while the city was collapsed. All the people in the city were dead. Everything went quit. The sorcery circle seemed to die out.
From afar people were looking at the sky in the direction of the city. People were wondering what that light was besides the eclipse. They feared something, not knowing what but they felt the energy aura coming from it.
Suddenly the sorcery circle went back alive. The circle gained some new patterns. The light then concentrated towards one sort of orb. Even the patterns light and beacons seemed to fed the orb with powerful energy. The light of the sorcery circle went out but the orb remained. Slowly starting to fall apart as the protective barrier and creation source went down. Instead of fully falling apart it emitted one long flash. The light was so intense you would wonder if the sun had fallen down. Slowly the energy spread out and manage to boil the water in thin air not to mention whole rivers and lakes. Steam particles started to spread out into the smallest cracks of the building. Blocks that could burn down started to burn. People started to choke on the steam as they couldn´t get any fresh cold air and finally died. The non-burning blocks started to dissemble under the growing cracks of the steam.
The light and energy spread out towards the whole world we know and on map. With that the people died out with all the advanced technique the had. The great looks and such.¨
The elder stopped talking and took some of his drink.

¨Now you may ask¨ Said the elder.
¨Why are we still here and not died out? How can you be so sure of this story? Does the circle machinery still stands? Are there remains of the cities on the edge of the map? Could it be that there are still people out here? Why died the red-people to, they should known the way to prevent that?¨ The young one asked this as fast he could.

¨Those are some questions you got there. I can answer some of them.
Let see. We nosers are something different than the people back than. In a sense we are superior due to our sensitive noses. Our ancestors smelled the change in energy so the most of us fled into shelter and hoped of the best. The closest villages of our ancestors near the city were also annihilate by the orb. The villages on the edge survived yet the most of our ancestors went blind due to intense lighting. With the steam cracking everything up. Most of us died back then shortly afterwards of the aftereffects. Yet we remained enough in population to prevent total annihilation. In other words this story is more of less changed through the generations but the base stands still. Regarding the red-people I believe they underestimated the power of the witch enhanced by the massive circle. Maybe one or two loners managed to survive in their bases but nothing more I guess.¨

The elder drunk his drink up.
¨The other questions I won´t answer as my drink is up. But I have a question for you. Stories often contain a so called ´moral of the story´. So does this one, what it is? I leave that to YOU, to think about while I am away.¨ And following his words, the elder stood up and went away.
