The Username Dilemma:
Usernames. Every time you go on a server people will probably recognize you and call you by your username. There has been much argument about adding a feature where you can change you user name. Here is a small quote on the subject from Mojang.
In my opinion, this is Mojang saying no. But, not all hope is lost as you can see this may change in the future.
Why would you want to change your username?
There are many reasons why one might want to change their username. I know my username 'tp124391' isn't exactly flattering and who wants to bother the write all those numbers? Some usernames can also be offensive, on some servers people can be banned for having an offensive name. And if you can't change it, what can you do? Are people willing to pay another 30 dollars for another account where you have to get all your progress all over again?
Issues with changing names
There are also aspects of changing names that could affect whether or not name changing will be implemented. People that are banned by username (and not IP) may be able to rejoin servers they have been banned on for griefing or other offenses. Do any of you remember the authentication glitch when hackers managed to log in as admins and grief to their hearts content? This made a massive impact on many servers - especially on ones that didn't have backup saves. Do you want this to happen again?
Possible Solutions for the 'Problem'
Here are some possible solutions for the so called 'problem'. On many servers, there is the /nick command allowing you to change your name. Sadly, this only works in chat and would not work on your nametag above your entity. Also, many servers do not have this command and the nicknames would not be universal and would only be on that server in which you entered /nick
Conclusion
To conclude this blog on the username dilemma I say will quote myself; "We all chose our usernames for something, our username represents us, like that of a fingerprint. It also has the same rule as a fingerprint - it does not change." Therefore we should be happy with our usernames, they cannot be changed.

I love my username =3
No numbers, No underscores, and I think it's a nice name.
when you make your minecraft account you must wait 6 months before you can change your name to stop peoplethat try andlag the minecraft servers and it automaticly changes all records of that username to the current one
