Not too long ago, a little bit before midnight, Si and Storm ventured into the Shiver Island Cemetery to explore it. While getting a tool for his friend to scrape some moss off of a statue, Storm accidentally awakened a horde of zombies previously resting in their graves. They escaped and ran back to Shiver Mansion, where they woke up IGEBM and prepared for the worst.

A tired IGEBM follows Storm downstairs, where Si is attempting to push one of the living room couches against the door. IGE goes to help him while Storm catches him up on what happened. "So basically, you guys broke one of the biggest scary movie rules and payed the price for it." the lore-writer says. "Pretty much." Storm responds, moving the coffee table towards him. As they finish pushing the couch, IGE and Si step out of the way so Storm can reinforce their barricade with the table. "Should we board the windows?" Si asks. "Nah, we'll be fine." IGE responds.

They wait around for several minutes, with IGE and Si relaxing in the kitchen while Storm keeps an eye out for zombies from the upstairs windows. Suddenly, they hear IGE's radio crackle. "IGE, they're on their way." Storm says through it. "Roger." IGE responds, before getting up to rush to the door. Si follows him, while Storm goes out to the balcony, not caring about the rain soaking his clothes. A horde of zombies are walking (or crawling) towards the mansion. He pulls several rocks out of his pocket and begins to throw them at the horde, hoping to, at the very least, distract them.

Meanwhile, Si picks up the shovel he and Storm brought back from the cemetery, while IGE readies a beam of light energy. They hear a banging sound in front of them, and a green hand smashes through part of the door. IGE shoots it back with a light orb, and the two run upstairs to meet up with Storm, hoping the barricade will keep the undead outside. Joining their friend on the balcony, they begin to attack the zombies, with Storm and Si throwing rocks and IGE firing light beams.

Slowly but surely, all of the zombies start to drop dead again, and sometimes it happens mysteriously without anyone hitting them. As the corpses sink into the ground, a strange sight to see, IGE, Si, and Storm get out of the rain and go inside, their clothes soaked. "I can't believe we just repelled a zombie invasion." Storm says. "Me neither." IGE responds as he pulls his hood down, his hair damp. "Never underestimate the power of a gravedigger and his friends." Si jokes, turning the shovel around in his hand. They all laugh and go to their rooms to change (with Si leaving the shovel outside) and go to bed.

A Little Trick I'll Be Using

Part of the plan for this series is that each chapter takes place the day after the last (hence them being called "Day 1," "Day 2," etc). That does, however, make stories where one is supposed to happen right after the other a bit tricky to write. To work around this, some stories may take place near midnight, so that it's technically a new day by the time the events of the next one happen. For example, in the previous chapter, Si and Storm head to the graveyard around that time, and by the end of it, it's almost a new day.
