Want to learn to build with a group of talented builders and be part of projects such as the Survival Games Maps, building scenes for Vareide shorts like 'The Heist', get an opportunity to get your builds and video's shown on the Team Vareide Youtube channel?

Then you have to make an application thread in the section labelled 'Apply Here'

In your application you ought to include:

• Your Minecraft Name (we prefer that you use your minecraft name to sign up as to avoid confusion)
  
• Your age
  
• Why you want to join the server
  
• Why you think you would be an important asset to our community
  
• A selection of screenshots of your best builds, we prefer if you use Imgur but if you have all your work on a PMC account that could be equally easy to look at so include a link to either or both.
  

We also have a set of requirements:

• You have a legal version of minecraft (no cracked versions)
  
• You are 15 or over in age.
  
• You have a microphone that works (not entirely necessary but can be helpful to communicate to the rest of the team)
  
• You can download and know how to use Teamspeak, even if you do not have a mic you can use the teamspeak chat to get in touch with other members.
  
• We also expect you to be able to speak a decent amount of English, enough to write an application and to communicate with other members and Admins.
  

What do you do if you don't meet the requirements but are still a huge fan of Vareide and the team?

There are a few things you can do to support us, firstly you can subscribe to our youtube and or follow our twitter account. You can also give us feedback on our projects, our videos and anything generally related to us so we can make things better for you guys. We also welcome suggestions, what new projects do you think we should do next, what stuff would you like more information on, what would you like to see on our youtube and our PMC. You can also suggest activities for us to do with you guys to get you more involved as well as the general minecraft community, for example would you be interested in fan art competitions? etc. and finally once we have those activities participate in them! We want to get more active with you guys so would appreciate the help and information.

Building Tips:

When submitting pictures into your application the main thing we look for is detail, now this doesn't mean your build has to be big but it is easier to add detail to a larger build. Adding detail to your builds is the main way to get accepted, showing you know how to detail a build is key to getting accepted into trial.

Build something of an unusual shape, shapes that are not commonly used can be harder to build and therefore can show more skill in being able to build them. They have to make sense in your build though and when used right can wow the admins looking at your app.

Build something original, we see a lot of certain types of builds such as castles try and build something that will refresh our minds after looking through app after app. Something that will make us think about and remember your application. Also if you build something we have seen many times before, we are likely to compare it to other builds in that style we have seen that may be a lot better. The more we see of something the higher the standard of it is set.

Ideally you should include three high quality builds in your application with screenshots taken from multiple angles that include interior and exterior.

We do not accept redstone, terraforming, or pixelart in applications although you may include them as extras to compliment your other work. The only conditions we may accept terraformers of redstoners in is if we are particularly lacking members that have those skills at the time or/and if you are exceptionally talented in those fields.

We prefer if you build in default as we do not use a texturepack on the server so everyone has to know how to build in default if they are wanting to build things for the server. We don't hold it against you if you use other texturepacks in your application but it is always good to see in an app that you can build awesome builds in default. Some texturepacks make it easier for builds to look good as they add detailing for you so building in default is a real challenge at times. If you choose to build in another texturepack for your application as admins we will look past it at your actual building skill and if you do get accepted you will have to prove to us you can build in default in the trial world.

Commonly asked questions:

Can I become a builder without making an application?
No. You must create an application in the application section before you can join the server and become a builder.

Why did my application get denied?
The reason for the denial of your application will have been explained with your denial. You are always welcome to make another application to improve on the points stated in your denial unless otherwise stated by an admin.

Can you guys come and build for me on my server?
No. You cannot hire out our team to build on your server. However, if individuals on the server choose to help out with your project that is up to them.

I am not 15 can you change the minimum age so I can join/Why is there an minimum age of 15?
No. We are not changing the age limit, it is there for a reason. Although there are a few exceptions the majority of under 15's are not mature enough for our community so we have decided to draw the line at age 15.

Is there a time limit on how long you will be accepting applications?
No. We are always looking for new members to bring something fresh to the team and can't wait to see our community grow.

Can I be a member of Team Vareide as well as being a member of another minecraft community?
Yes. We do not mind which other communities you are in, we accept anyone who fulfills our application and trial build requirements.

My application was accepted and I have joined the server, why cano t I build yet?
There is a special world for new members to build in, it is called the trial world. To be able to build there you need to ask an admin to give you your trial rank and they will also show you where to go.

Why do you have a trial world?
The trial world is set up so we can check for ourselves your building skills directly so we can decide whether to take you on as a builder. This makes sure that the skill shown in your build pictures is still there on our server, sometimes it is hard to tell someoneo s building skill simply from a screenshot and sometimes people do not use their own builds in their applications. This allows us to maintain a high standard in our build worlds.

Can I apply to be an admin?
No you cannot apply to be an admin. If Vareide decides he needs more admins he will choose the best candidates out of the builders himself, he will not respond to people who ask to get promoted and harass him or any member of server staff for admin status.
