Hey Everyone! :D
This is my furniture tip guide :D
First I would just like to say that I built these in a house that someone else built. This person is AMAZING at building in my opinion so everyone should check out nitromegamer's stuff! :D
Nitromegamer's Page and The house I used
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Walls:
If you want walls that don't completely cut off the space, this is for you ;D
Slabs are thick and make it look nice without completely blocking it off
Carpet is thin and a more modern way to block off space, the only bad thing about it is that in the entrance there can't be carpet on the top without having to have carpet below it
Stairs:
I hate when stairs look unrealistic because they're floating, so here is my solution :D
So my solution is to stack the stairs so it looks cool and looks like it isn't just floating in the air in a weird way
Lighting:
If you're having some lighting design trouble, look no further!
All you need is a fence, four trap doors, and glowstone and you have a pretty chandelier :3
Or if you want hidden lighting, leaves work great too!
If there is a light source behind a leaves block it will shine through like it wasn't being covered up, so pretty leaves can hide glowstone, and you'd never notice that the glowstone was behind it ;D
Pretty sneaky ;D
If you want torches then here is a simple way to make them look nicer than just on the walls. It's just 4 netherbrick fences
Or you could use 5 netherbrick fences and it still turns out pretty cool :D
Or, you could always mix glowstone and torches to make a nice and simple chandelier. If you have light material for the majority of your house you should think of using darker fixtures to compliment the lighter majority of your house.
Corner Decorations:
I hate when I have a pretty house and nice furniture filling the place, but the corners are bare. It's hard to fit furniture in corners because of the awkward angles, so to make your corners less empty, here's an easy tip.
What I used was 2 oak leaves, 1 spruce log, and 2 trapdoors to make it and the corners don't look empty anymore! :D
Tables:
If you want a simple kitchen table here's your table! :D
This is my version of a butcher block counter top island in a kitchen to take up some space :D
Oven/Range:
Instead of just simple furnaces, spice it up! ;D
I used regular stone plates to put over the furnaces as stove tops, and 3 jungle planks with 2 stairs to make a stove vent.
Aesthetic Drawers:
If you have enough storage, and you just want to make your space look like there's more storage, check these drawers out! :D
I used signs and in the middle space of the sign I used the parenthesis () to make a circle so it looked like a handle :3
Planters/Flowers:
Sometimes it's nice to spice up your windows on the outside.
I used grass blocks, my favorite flowers, and trap doors on all sides with 2 fences to make it look like it is holding the planter up.
Or you could go without, It still looks amazing both ways ;D
If you don't like planters, then you could plant flowers infront of the windows to make it look just as nice :D
I recommend these flowers for the dark oak houses.
QUICK TIP:
If you have one of any tall flowers, and you right click the top with bonemeal it will create more of those flowers :D
Library/Enchantment Room:
For all the book lovers that love to bring their love for books into the minecraft world, libraries are important. However, simple doors leading into a library just doesn't do it justice. Or if you're looking to make a nice entrance for the enchanting room, here's a little furniture to introduce that amazing book room or enchant room.
I thought this is a really cool way to make a plain entrance grand! it's a 2x2 book shelf with stairs around it with the corners cut off.
Hallway:
If you like hallways but hate how empty they look, the solution is here!
Just use planters :D Tree's actually look pretty nice, so you can save the flowers for the windows ;D
Here's what they look like on either side :D It looks pretty dang awesome to me! :D
Paths:
Paths can be pretty boring, so why not make a cute path to that cute house ;D
Look at those cute flowers! It makes a huge difference and it's super easy to make! they're found all over Minecraft, and if you don't want to pick them, there's bonemeal that makes them also c:
Fences:
Here's a great way to use all those extra fences!
dig one block into the ground and put either planks or logs into it. Then put three leaves on top (I prefer oak) and put the fences on both sides of the hedges.
the Inside of the hedges c:
BONUS ROOM:
The Gold Room:

Gold isn't as used in minecraft usually. It sits there with no good use. So, here is a good use :D

I didn't put that on here though because a lot of people know the idea and I didn't want someone to be able to say I "stole their idea" :b
But that was good, made me giggle ^-^
