When I was thinking , o what could be added to Minecraft?o I looked at one of the areas with so much potential but so little to show, this was the NPC villages. So my idea is to make improvements on the whole idea of villages and add in some other stuff.

So first off I would add new types of villages, not just biome dependent but on the way they live. There would be, fishing villages, hunting villages, farming villages and trading villages. There would also be different types of villagers to add to the ones there are now, there would be:

Hunters: would go out and collect items from animals.

Fishermen: Go out and collect fish.

Mayors: Plan how the town/village is built

Slaves: Do any type of job but for a very small pay, they also wono t work as fast

Beggars: Will beg you for money and items

Builders: Will do Buildings for the mayor or to anyone who pays

Merchants: Sell you misc items (this could be anything from wheat to Eye of Enders or even Endstone)

Lumberjacks: Would collect wood either in a forest or tree farm (Tree farm explained later on)

Adventurers: would map the area around the village and put it on the town map (town map explained later on)

Miners: would go to caves or quarries to collect stone, minerals and sometimes lava

Guards: the Guards would be the town defence in an raid (Raids explained later on) and would also be the law enforcement of the town so they could throw you in jail if you trampled on a farmers crop, stole from villagers chest, killed one of the villagers or destroyed a house or structure

Assassins: Assassins would be able to kill people for you, of course at a price. This is handy as in my mod one of the villager laws would be if that someone dies anyone is free to take from their chests. If a villager had diamonds you could pay the assassin to kill them and you could get that loot!

I would also add new structures to the villages some are for appearance while others have a good use. There would be:

An Inn: this would be a place where villagers come for a good time, meals and drinks. Here is where you could make so friends, Allies and Enemies. There would be bar fights if you said the wrong thing to someone who has drunk a bit too much. There would also be rooms where you could stay the night at a small cost. (Inns would be rated 1-5 stars and the higher the stars the more the cost).

Jail: If you committed a crime and the guards caught you you would be sent to jail. Here is where you could make some evil allies that would do dirty work for you, although if you get on the wrong side of people there can be some violent consequences. You can serve your time or you can escape and flee to another village and if you build up you reputation their they would protect you from getting sent back to the other villages prison

Town hall: This is the central meeting point for the village, if the mayor calls a meeting you can attend and even have an input into how the village is built and where their recourses are used on. The town hall will also double as a safe area where the villagers will hide in a raid.

Park: this is where you can relax and get in touch with nature. You can meet villagers on the park bench. Some villagers might even bring their tamed wolves to the park

Castle: This building will be one of the hardest things to build, this is where a king and/or queen will live with their family and their slaves and guards

Quarry: This would be where the miners go to collect materials and where you could go too. It would have a minecart track and have support for the more aesthetic look.

Tree farm: This is simply where trees would be planted for collection by the lumberjacks

Roads: roads could be built between Villages that have good relationships and reugularly trade with each other. These roads would go over ravines and caves and through any mountain so you would have a pretty straight journey all the way.

Town map: A town map is where Adventurers (or you) put your maps in to add to the known area around your village. You can add waypoints and when you put in the map you can take it out and still use it

Now is the part where you come in. When you first arrive at a village you will be unknown and depending on the type of person you will be greeted in different ways (Kids might run away from you). But when you go through the stages of seen around, trustworthy, friend of the village, resident and then popular resident (first by buying stuff from the village and then doing quests and helping out) people will start treating you better and will let you buy/build a house and have more input at town hall meetings. You can even become so popular that you could be mayor and choose the path of the village. You also have an alignment where depending on what you do you will either be good or evil and people will react differently depending on how far you are on each one (this will be represented with either a Halo for good or Devils horns for bad and a percentage for how good/evil you are. You can also then have a job like a villager (i.e farmer, merchant or a guard) where people will buy goods off you or hire you for their protection. You can also help when the village is being raided of even help raid another village.

There will also be questing where villagers will want you to help them with certain tasks such as helping to find their dog, help to catch a criminal, slay the beast haunting the mines (probably a couple of withers or something) and other stuff like that. You will have to build up your popularity in a village to do certain quests though and completing these will result in experience, more popularity and loot.

Now for just a few more misc changes and we are done:

*will improve the NPC houses and farms (The smith, church etc. will remain the same)

*Add Merchant cart made with sticks and wood. This would be like a minecart with chest but can be used off rails

*Add a thirst bar which will require you to drink something periodically

*More stuff to brew: Such as Beer, Wine and Ale etc.

This is what I think would greatly increase the fun had when playing minecraft and it would be a world type so you could turn it off if you didno t want these awesome new villages.

Thank you for reading this very lengthy submission into the minedeas contest. I hope you agree this would be an awesome mod
