As we all know, the item frames are used for decoration. But they can be used for so many different stuff, not only decoration. in this blog I will show you what you can use the time frame for.
1. LABEL CHESTS WITH ITEM FRAMES ABOVE THEM
Now all your chests can be labelled with pictures. For example put a helmet on top of the chest and you have colorful storage room. No more signs with the need to write and read.
Note : You must crouch to place the item frame on the chests, if not, you will just open the chest!
2. ITEM FRAMES AS ARMRESTS
Using item frames, for armrest is more compact form of chair. Using signs to make chairs is difficult , because there needs to be two blocks between each. Since more than one item frame can be placed in each block, the space between each chair only needs to be one block. Now you can make a table, surrounded with chairs and you can have on all of them armrests.
3. REDSTONE DUST LOOKS LIKE AN ARROW, POINTING IN ALL DIRECTIONS
Interesting ways of making arrows is putting redstone dust in the item frames. It makes unique and colorful set of pointing directions. You can rotate them 4 time and point 4 different ways of going. Perfect way of instructing someone to where he must go and unusual decoration if you are planning to make adventure maps.
4. PUT AN ORDINARY ARROW, POINTS IN ALL 4 DIAGONALS
Another good way to show the direction in your maps or somewhere else is to put an arrow in the item frame and rotate it. It shows in the 4 diagonals. Now you have the ordinary arrow, pointing in all 4 diagonals, and the redstune dust, pointing in all 4 normal directions.
5. MAKE A BIG MAP FROM SMALL MAPS
Did you know that you can collect your different maps and place them on the item frame. When you place all the maps, they will make a huge beatiful map. Use it as a decoration for a geography class. It's good because the maps cover the whole blocks, so there isn't space left over. The maps are HQ too. Now you can have a map from one of your bases to your other base.
6. FUNCTIONING CLOCKS
Did you know that you can make a functioning wall clock? When I first started playing Minecraft, I tried putting it on the wall, but it didn’t work and I thought it was useless. But it’s not because it shows how much time you have until the hostile mobs are free to kill you. Anyway, you can put your clock in an item frame and you get functioning clock. I will be happy if you post in the comments different types of clocks and with you permission, I can include them in the blog. So go ahead and share your ideas with us!
During day. During night.
7. DISPLAYING A CRAFTING RECIPE - GOOD FOR TUTORIAL VIDEO
I am sure that most of us have tried to make youtube videos and maybe we are still making. Personally, I have Youtube Channel ( https://www.youtube.com/user/XBladeDestinyX ) and I started with tutorials on how to craft stuff and I wondered if there is an interesting way that I can present the crafting recipe to the people - in a way that is different and innovative. So I decided to use item frames for this purpose. It’s interesting and huge enough, so that people can see and they don’t even need to make a fullscreen to see the crafting recipe. What are you waiting for, go and make some Minecraft tutorials and use this way of presenting the crafting recipe!
Example - Stone Pickaxe;
8. MAKE A "FANCY" TORCH
There is a cool way to make a beautiful and new torch decoration by using trapdors, slabs, anvils and many other things. Go ahead and experiment! :)
