It's been a long time since I posted a blog and the reason for that is that a blog should contain news or a subject of discussion. Well, this blogpost is an update on the Angelus project.

All my subscribers are here because of this single project, which is fine by me :) But the update of the old map is taking much more time I anticipated or even dared to dream. Partially, this is my own fault as I have many ideas I wanted to implement and this number of ideas is steadily growing.

The latest of these ideas is Nethanya. Originally, I wanted it to be a big city you could roam in, but now I feel inclined to make it just an easthethic project. It's getting too big to furnish it and I think I'll just add some story around it - literally. Small RPG-parts will be placed around the build, hinting its origins and why it's still around. We'll see how it ends.

For the moment, I'd say that the map is about 50% updated. But with the new chunk-generation, there'll be a lot of cliffsides and broken biomes, but the hell with it - I'm not gonna bother. I do have in mind to use a generation mod to create a large apocalyptic border-region around the entire map so that you'll know where to stop walking. As for the internal regions, I'm currently using a dungeon-generator mod to add new dungeons during generation of new terrain.

I'll post links to the mods someday and I also might need to revamp the credit section on both the project credit chamber in the map and on the project page here on the site.

Further than that, I'd like to rant a little about the updates of this site and its overall structure and web design. I'm annoyed with the new frontpage; I find it cluttered, inefficient and just damn irritating. I don't want to see my subscriptions or favorites first. If I'd want that, I'd just open the site from my profile page. As to the overall structure; I think the coding and hyperlinks between pages (both from the site as from users) is incredibly slow and inefficient. It takes too long to establish a connection through the links themselves and the download speed of the page itself is long, too long. Now, you might say that's my fault, that it's my internet being shitty; No, it isn't. As far as internet goes, I'm sure that 65% to 75% of all internet users in the world are way behind on me when it comes to speed. Myt laptop may be a Macintosh, but at least it's fast.

Ah, I've had it to be honest. I'm putting too much time in Minecraft in overall, as I sit behind my desk or lay in bed. School's beginning to suffer from it and it might be best to take a break from it for a week orso.

Anywho, I just wanted to say that the update of the map is due to March or April. And with 1.2 on the way, it might be even later. Also, I will not restore the current broken link with a new link. The US Government took the site down, so rant about it to them. They can't do anything right anyway so they just make things worse, as a way of keeping themselves busy. Bunch of hypocritical religious nutjobs...

Meh, Angelus out.
