So a huge shoutout goes to Jetra for explaining to me the new rules. Also a huge shoutout to Cyprezz for changing the rules so that I can do this new series.
Shoutouts aside, I’d like to introduce to you lovely-faced nerds and nerdesses (that’s not a word) another new series. This shall coincide with Craft Theory, except it will happen more frequently. I will explain it after as I have to say this point: I will still be doing my regular blogs as well.
This series is called VS. It’s not an original name, but I don’t really mind. Basically I will put one video game up against another video game. At every January 4th I will begin a tournament between games I have reviewed and we will see what the favourite game, besides Minecraft, is. Note that the tournament doesn’t start today. It starts next year.
Le Matchup
Let’s begin, shall we? As you can see today’s match-up includes Candy Crush Saga. The infamous Facebook game will compete against another series that I feel is terrible. Call of Duty.
Candy Crush Saga
This game is published by King. Okay that’s my argument for that. No I’m kidding, seriously this game is terrible. It’s just a rip-off of Bejewelled that requires you to have friends. In my opinion games were made for people who don’t have a social life, but if they DO have a social life they have an OPTION to play with other people. You are going to throw me off of a bus, but it’s true.
The second reason I believe this game is terrible is because of the notifications. I am tired of getting messages all over my Facebook and it saying “So and So needs more lives”. I would make a joke about this, but probably 60% of you play Candy Crush.
Finally, no story line. Basically you just do the same thing over and over again except for adding something “new” every level. I haven’t exactly found an end to the game either. Now for certain games this is okay like Minecraft or Grand Theft Auto, it’s not okay for a bejewelled rip-off.
The Call of Duty Series
This game isn’t as terrible as I say it is. It is the first game that really brought multiplayer to a new level. However ever since Modern Warfare and Black Ops the stories have been terrible. They just basically make the game so you CAN play multiplayer. If you don’t have internet there is no point in playing it. Like seriously, what were they thinking?
“Oh this will be a brilliant idea indeed! We shall make it that you have to play on our Multiplayer servers instead of actually playing the game.”
“My, my dear Watson ‘tis brilliant! Extraordinarily brilliant to be matter of fact.” Then there is that one smart guy in the back who complains about not having a story and he gets fired, the end.
So that concludes the first installment of Vs. Tell me which game you think wins and maybe suggest a game to put up against a different one. Thanks for reading.
