Last time we battled two of the more known vintage games were put up against eachother. I had not replies, so I can’t exactly say that there was a winner. I’m actually thinking of cutting this series. Tell me what you think. If anyone actually reads these blogs…

Le Matchup



So today’s matchup is NHL 08 vs. Madden NFL 08. Like I said a while ago, I can only do games that I have played before. I would do NHL 14 as I have that game, but I felt that I should put up two games from the same year. So here it goes.

NHL 08



From what I can remember Igot this game as a Christmas present. This is the first NHL game that introduced using the right stick to shoot. Before you would tap the square button (for playstation, probably the B button for Xbox…is that a button on the Xbox?) for a snapshot and hold the square button for a slapshot. Having the right stick was brilliant. I loved how you had more buttons to do more stuff. You were automatically given the ability to do virtually whatever you wanted. It was truly an amazing experience.

Madden NFL 08



This is another game published by EA. In my opinion EA Sports is probably one of the best franchises to ever come out of gaming. Anyway, this game basically brought me the same excitement that any Madden NFL did. I got to play as my favourite NFL players (Brett Favre) and my favourite NFL teams (Green Bay Packers). The only problem is that I was horribly terrible at it. But even if I was bad, I had lots of fun playing with my friends. We would always see whose team could destroy. It was usually the other person’s, but the main idea is that we got to have fun playing one of our favourite sports. FOOTBALL! Although it’s not the football that British people call soccer it was still fun. I wish that they made a CFL game.
