This is my first blog for a long time and as I had a spare afternoon, I thought I might as well write another one. Just to clarify some things, I am English and as such some of the things I say may not make 100% sense, for example us English people call pants, trousers etc. Please tell me if I have said something that doesn't make sense.

The idea of this blog is to ask a moral question to some people.

I want you to imagine that PMC is just a big shop (or store if that is what you call them). The moderators are the shop workers and members are shoppers. As with any shop there are the good shoppers, who pay for everything and then there are those you do not and steal items. There are shoppers who buy a lot of items and those who just browse, just like here on PMC; there are some people who upload a lot and others who don't upload anything and just browse the shop looking at items.

Let's imagine you are out shopping, you see a something you like, would you steal it or would you pay for it? I hope you would pay for it. So we understand that stealing is wrong, and we wouldn't do it in real life. So why do people do it over the internet? People post skins, projects, and mods etc every day which they have stolen, but why? If you wouldn't do it in real life, why do it on the internet. In real life you would (hopefully) be caught and you would have to face the consequences. On PMC is you get caught you will face a ban and have any rule breaks posts removed, that is fair, right? If I stole a DVD from a shop it is only fair that I have the DVD taken away from me and get in trouble with the law? So why is it unfair if a moderator removes a stolen skin and bans the person who steals it?

It is not only stolen posts/real life items I am talking about here. Remixing/editing other peoples work is also against the rules. If I went into a shop, took a DVD but left the DVD case, that is still stealing. So why should stealing part of someone elses skin or project be any different? It isn't, you will still have the rule breaking post removed and receive a ban.

In real life we follow the laws and rules set by our governments, parents and other authority figures. So why do some people not do it on PMC? In real life we are punished, as we are on PMC. When we get punished in real life, do we rebel and shout? I imagine many people do, but what does this usually get us? It gets us in more trouble. A normal, rational person would take their punishment and live with it and then learn not to do it in the future. Many people here on PMC do this, I sometimes get a PM from people saying sorry and they will not do it again. I also get PM's asking why something was removed, when I tell them many people accept it and do not break the rules again. However there are those few people, who, not meaning to be rude, do not learn. On the site rules there is a rule, Rule 0, that states a moderators ruling in final. What this means is that just for arguing with a moderator and saying they are wrong means we as moderators are entitled to ban you for longer/permanently. However we do not do this, unless we are greeted with racism, hack or death threats. If someone is/does these, their account is permanently banned and their IP is blacklisted. Back to what I was talking about: some people argue and are so ignorant/cannot see what they have done is wrong that they argue, become very rude and insulting and get an extended ban. We do not like having to deal with these people, although if you do act like that, the raging PM's do provide a good laugh for the moderators. What I am trying to say here is, be polite and ask questions such as "Could you please explain to me why my post was removed. Thanks." Not "OMG I H8 U. Y U REMOV MI POST!". When you get the answer, accept it and move on. If you believe the moderator has made a wrong judgement, politely explain why to them or ask another moderator if they think the removal of the post was justified. Raging and lying will get you nowhere. When a post is removed you will get a notification along with a comment saying why it was removed, that should be enough. You would not shout at, rage, swear and verbally abuse a police officer and expect to get away with it, would you?

TL;DR: Follow the rules. If you don't you will be banned. Any PM's you make, make them polite and do not argue.

I hope this blog has made some sense and some people take something away from this. If you break the rules, you will eventually be caught.

I would like to finish off this blog with a small request on mine, the rest of the moderation team and the whole PMC community. Please read the rules here and here. Thank you for reading.

I haven't got a clue if you're being serious or not, too many idiots have spoken to me like that for me to know if it is a joke or not. If I did remove your post, I'd say I was sorry, but I'm not.

You shouldn't be sorry, I didn't. I learnt to laugh at everyone regardless of what they said whilst I was a moderator. You're a reasonably good person then, maybe.
