There were a lot of factors which inspired me to create Bootcamp. Most notable being the training course in ScottehBoeh's BlockFront. When I first entered the training course, I was in awe to how the mod was utilized for teaching newcomers the basic mechanics of BlockFront. I think this is one of the few mods out there that has a tutorial level.
I wanted to incorporate the same mechanics in Call to Battle 2 as both are one of the largest WW2 mods in Minecraft. Two years ago I created a video on my YouTube channel which acted as a tutorial for newcomers to Call to Battle 2 and wanted to take that a step further and create an interactive map, after all I'm pretty sure nobody has ever done something like this.
However when first conceiving Bootcamp, I came across a few obstacles. For example, creating such a map is extremely difficult and time consuming with CTB2 alone since there are not that many mechanics in the mod that can be utilized for tutorial maps such as Bootcamp.
I also had to come up with a design of the map. So I looked up reference images of northeastern Texas's landscape and created the basic framework of the map design. I also took a few liberties in the camp's design.
That's all I have to offer for this blog, thanks for reading and hopefully I will have Bootcamp out by the end of the month :)
