In Minecraft 1.19 diamonds start around Y 16 and increase their presence as you go down being level -58 (credit: minecraftminer web site) the best level to find diamonds.

While level -58 is the best level to find diamonds in Minecraft 1.19 beware of lava as it is very likely that you will also encounter it while digging.



If you want to stay safe and not encounter lava level -54 will be the right level for you, although of course the higher the risk the more benefits so in -58 there will always be more diamonds.



On the -58 layer you are not only more likely to encounter Diamonds, you are also more likely to encounter Redstone.

In conclusion the best layers to mine are the following:

• Diamonds and Redstone: -58
• Emeralds: 256
• Coal: 95 – 135
• Copper: 47
• Iron: 14
• Lapis Lazuli: 0
• Gold: -17
