Hey guys, it's me again bringing you another blog! Today's blog is about what it is truly like to run a server. For some this is old news, for others this is new. So please sit back, pop some popcorn, and relax!

WHAT IT'S LIKE TO BE AN OWNER ON A SERVER!

Let's start with the obvious, it's not easy. Fixing the plugins, making a nice spawn, worst of all is dealing with an abusive admin. So let's truly begin, shall we?

So you finally bought that server you wanted, now what? Well first things first, get the plugins you need. I recommend these plugins for a basic server, Essentials, Permissionsex, Worldedit, Worldguard, NoCheatPlus, and Coreprotect. Now I won't tell you how to configure them on this blog, maybe later if I have the time. So after those are configured, you need a spawn and staff.

The spawn, some claim it's the easiest, some claim it's the hardest. I say it's difficult mainly because I'm not a builder. But for you builders, it will be easy :P. So you have the spawn done, but what about staff? Well in my experience allowing friends to be staff has always back fired on me, don't do it. You could make a post on the forums (Server recruitment) but sometimes people lie just to abuse. So what are you to do you ask? I recommend just watching the players on your server, look for those who are nice and follow the rules and are on regularly.

So now if all is going well you have a nice server going. This also means you have a community that you HAVE to listen to.So you know, listen to them. They are what keeps your server going, please them as much as possible. If everyone says they want the Factions plugin, so long as it doesn't conflict with anything, add it.

Abusive staff, these guys are the worst. They kick people when they are losing, ban people when they get raided. They are poison to your server. If someone calls abuse on a staff member, don't ignore. Ask for proof or the player that was banned/kicked.

CONCLUSION

Owning a server isn't easy. However it can be a lot of fun. Just remember, people enjoy your server!
