Starting off

The first time I have ever encountered Minecraft was a few (4-5, maybe less) years ago, when I was looking through all the demos for the XBox 360 console. The most popular demo out there was Minecraft, and therefor I decided to try it out (my past gaming experience mostly consisted in real-time strategy games or first person shooters, so this was rather new to me). Firstly, I felt like the graphics were quite poor, and the controls felt really out of hand. After playing for a few hours I decided to quit it, since I was getting bored and wasn't really sure what I was doing.

Intermission

A month or so after I quit playing the Minecraft demo on XBox I found a few amazing and outstanding builds in Minecraft on the Internet (Eiffel Tower, Star Wars-related builds etc.) and I thought that was pretty cool and I would like to try that out myself. Since I couldn't really afford the game at the time, I started watching Minecraft YouTube (with no past experience of gaming videos). So you could say Minecraft drove me into YouTube as well!

Anyways, after a couple of months of watching YouTube videos (different trolls were the first ones I saw, and it was also my first encounter with those guys and memes), SkyDoesMinecraft being the first YouTuber I really looked into. Later I expanded to Ssundee (who I still watch today), DanTDM, PopularMMOs etc.

Getting the game

At some point, after around an year having watched a whole bunch of YouTube, I have managed to get a good ol' (cracked, sorry) version of Minecraft on my PC, which I have played since 1.5.2 (my first PC Minecraft version) to 1.6.4, when I managed to actually buy the game for XBox 360 and I kinda' stopped playing the computer version. Later (before 1.8 was fully released) I got to buying the PC version of the game, and I was extremely excited and happy. I've played on a bunch of servers (mainly the big ones), I've got into modded Minecraft and everything and it was all a whole bunch of fun.

Others

Up until today I still play a whole bunch of Minecraft, but since I had school and some important exams, I didn't fully have time to check on PMC too often, enter contests, build and post stuff etc. At the moment I'm playing modded Minecraft (a custom modpack made by me and only for me), but I do go on servers from time to time to see new minigames and all that. I do consider myself a pretty good Minecrafter as well, not because I'm great at particular things (PvP, hardcore mode etc.) but because I have a rather large knowledge of the game itself and its' mechanics, and because I'm part of this ever-growing community we have here on Planet Minecraft or in general, with the Minecrafters worldwide.

If you ever checked my channel, around two years ago I made 4 videos, but they were of pretty bad quality. If you want to check them out you still can, but it's nothing amazing, just so you know.

So what makes me a Minecrafter?

I feel like what's making me a Minecrafter is the fact that I play the game, that I learn every day, that I try new stuff out and thanks to the fact that I'm part of this huge fan community we have going on for a while now. I may not be the most recent Minecraft player ever, but I do try to find out what was before my first version of Minecraft and learn new things as they come out in the new updates (not to mention the many modded things that I'm still trying to comprehend today).
Just throwing it in there, the Minecraft YouTubers that I watch at the moment are Grian, MagmaMusen and Ssundee.

Future plans with Minecraft

Firstly, I want you to know that I'll continue playing Minecraft a long time from now on, don't worry about that!
Secondly, I intend to get Minecraft: Story Mode at some point, but didn't get around doing that for personal reasons.
Thirdly (you're probably getting tired of all these numbers here), I tried the Windows 10 Edition of the game, but since I don't play Minecraft: PE and neither do my friends, it's pretty pointless (except for the achievements, of course).
I've also recently bought myself an XBox One, and I really wanted to try Minecraft out on that platform, but it seems like it's not backwards compatible?! I thought this would be one of the first game that they would make backwards compatible :|
When I get around buying a pair of HoloLens, I intend to try out Minecraft with those guys, but that's really out of my budget.

EDIT (this was made long after the contest, so don't take this in consideration if you wanna know why I've made it to the finalists):

I have finally bought the XBox One variant of the game :D. Also have played the first episode of Minecraft: Story Mode, as it became free not long from when I am writing this.
