What's the differency between Hamachi server and normal server?

I have a hamachi server. But my question is: Why do I need hamachi? I don't even know if need it. So maybe you guys can explain why hamachi is needed? I'm not the smartest person in the world! But guys, if you know why please anwser! (BTW how can you make a forum on planetminecraft?) Just some little more information about my server: I have a premium server, I bought the game. And I allow 50 people in the server.... I hope this information helps you....

Well Guys, now I have a other problem, nobody can connect to my normal IP adress... except for people on that Ip... I guess it has something to do with port forwarding.... But I don't want to port forward...

Usually are Hamachi servers used to play SMP cracked games for example Cracked Minecraft.

Well it depends on how you use it. It doesn't mean that if you just use it you support cracked SMP.

Hamachi servers allow people with hamachi to go on their server,also they need to know the I.P and
password to go on.You type in the password on hamachi and it automaticly connects to your minecraft.
