I'm sure everyone reading this has been or wants to be an admin on a particular server. If you have been, you probably know what I'm talking about. If you want to be, then take this as advice. There are sometimes where as an admin, you should go against other admins even sometimes higher authorities to be fair towards the normal players. Like if one of the other admins is trolling players and greifing them, you should do something to make them unable to troll or greif again until a higher authority, like an owner, gets on to investigate. However, this can also back stab you. So there are also times in which you should not go against other admins or higher authorities, even if not going against them would be unfair to other players. Some examples:
Moral of the story, follow your instinct. Generally, if you are smart enough to be trusted with that fancy Admin tag, you should be smart enough to know when to enforce it. There are sometimes being fair is good, but there are also times where being unfair is best. If you don't want to listen to the higher authorities, or have different ideas on how to moderate said server, it's best to ask the owner what he wants, then either tell said higher authority, or just leave. Sometimes leaving is the best option, as you can then restart on another server, or even make your own. If you have any experiences like these, tell me and I will add them so that we can have better Admins and Mods on all of our servers.
Another Admin breaking the rules
If another admin is planning on breaking the rules, demote them as soon as possible no matter what they say, and wait until a higher authority gets on. You can then let the higher authority know what they were doing, and either punish them then, or if they were told to, you can promote them again and let them know you were just trying to prevent anything bad happening.
Higher Authority bans
If a higher authority bans a player and you thought it was an unfair ban, tell the server owner. Don't unban them and have them explain themselves, ask first. I learned this one the hard way, and honestly it was a stupid mistake. If you unban them before you ask, you and they could get banned for multiple things. Remember almost any GOOD server has logs.
The Owner knows best
If the owner of the server you are an admin on does something, don't question it. Whether or not it's fair, it happens and you can't change it, no matter how hard you try. I also learned this the hard way, another stupid mistake that is for most people, common knowledge.
Banning someone for another Admin
If another admin wants you to ban a player, or take any disciplinary actions for them, don't do it. They are perfectly capable of doing it themselves, and no matter how much you trust them, they are probably just wanting you to do it so that they don't get in trouble.

Also if you are on a server that is not a pvp survival and admins / staff grief normal users... i would leave anyway
but actual grief or making a whole build dif mats is to far anything that can make someone rage badly is a no no
