So I haven't done any skinning or Minecraft related for a few weeks. And this blog has nothing to do with Minecraft, so I'm not sure it's 'allowed' but what the worst that can happen, it's deleted?

Last Tuesday we had to put my cat to sleep. We've had her for at least 14 years, though we think she may have been 15. Point is, it's been a long time. She's been in this house as long as we have, and her presence was a constant part of living here. Now that she's gone, it feels so empty.

In the days leading up to her departure she became very sick. Last Spring was when problems first appeared. We had to keep her on pills to stimulate her appetite, since at that point we thought she had irritable bowel syndrome. But it was a tumor in her intestines. She was fine for a while, but the last few weeks were bad. She was noticeably weaker, she was having seizures, and her behavior was different. It was heart breaking. She made it clear she was ready to go, even if we weren't... but coming to terms with that decision has been challenging.

To those who've wondered, if any of you had, minecraft has just... seemed stupid and insignificant. I'll likely start making skins again in the near future, but this has sort of been the kick to wake me up from my 'artlessness' the past few months. I feel inspired to do other things. So this drawing, for instance, is what I did as I spent my last 2 days with her. It means a lot to me. She means a lot to me.

But she gave me years of happiness and camaraderie, which I am eternally grateful for. I really think her silent presence kept me from harm during the difficult years that I struggled in middle school. And for that I smile, but also weep. My baby forever. My little Noire.
